Potential Minority Investment

Watford are in discussions with a U.S. investment group over the sale of an initial minority stake in the club.

Talks are at an early stage but are based on a £150m-£200m ($190m-$200m) valuation of the Championship club according to sources close to the deal, who will remain anonymous owing to the confidential nature of negotiations.

Yep, this has been on the cards for a while now. This is very encouraging news. Minority share leading to a potential full buyout.

As I’ve been saying. Thanks for the first 7 years Pozzo’s, but it’s time to leave and let someone else have a go.

Really ? Discounted for a minority stake ? Bite their bloody hands off.
If new shares are issued that would mean funds into the club. If the Pozzos would be selling some existing shares to them it doesn't necessarily mean funds into the club.

2019-20, so Cathcart still had a little bit left in the tank, but both were inadequate at Prem level

Hopefully it's not that SPAC deal again which was rumoured not that long ago.

US investment in UK football clubs have hardly had much of a track record of success in recent years - aside from the boring lower league Wrexham circus.

 

I heard it was to be 'Tinpot FC' nickname the Tinpot Kettles to go with a new all black kit.
