I can honestly see 10 or more leaving out of those misfits. It's going to be another cross fingers and hope transfer window.
The summer of 2023 is going to be huge, we'll finally be rid of all those oldies who won't be up to it anymore, we just have to hope the squad won't be so gutted by then that we have nobody of any quality...
Fletcher 2026. Are the club f**king mad. This sack of ***** will do nothing for us. WTE, get him out of the club. Ngakia, Taxi Baah, Who? Kayembe, useless. Couldn’t get a game in Belguim. Samir, he is not that good. Kalu, can he actually play or is he just an agents hand me down to a gullible club? Pussetto, he has to be sold on . Too weak for even the Championship. IMO, most of them can go, but that will not happen.
Trouble is, looking at the list of players still under contract - it's full of defender types. We've moaned on here about our poor defence as a whole but I can't see many of them leaving. Samir, kayembe yes but I think eg Ngakia will develop. I guess RE has to really analyse where the current weak links are amongst that pack, but we desperately need a couple of decent midfielders and a couple of striker types...
I reckon Samir is going. But what club in their right minds would look at any of our defenders except Kamara?
Have Forde and Manning signed their pro contracts yet? I know Andrews has, hopefully we get the other two tied down.
Just to depress us all further... after this season finishes: We've another year of Kabasele. We've another year of Gaspar. We've two more years of Troost-Ekong. We've another year paying for Quina (0 goals and assists so far this season) We've three more years of Kayembe. We've two more years of Manaj We've three more years of Ashley Fletcher (played 8 minutes in 7 games for Burnley - excluding the games he didn't make the match day squad) We've four more years of Bayo. We've two more years of Kalu.
How much does this mean? For example Danny Rose just being let go, if someone wants them hypothetically without a transfer fee we can get rid right?
The issue is that all the other teams know this, and so playing us has become their cup final. Some sort of allowance needs to be made for this extra effort being made against us. Maybe we should be given an extra 20 points ? That might make the difference between making the playoffs or not.
Only if he wants to go there and presumably they match what we are paying him. Otherwise we have to compromise with him to settle his contract with us and then he can sign whatever terms he wants with another side.
Better get him signed up on a new deal and quickly. Can’t afford to let yet another former England star walk away for nothing.
Knowing us Cleverley and Gosling will get one whilst Cathcart won't despite playing all season and being one of our better players so far (ok not saying much I know! )
Tobi signs a Professional contract . https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/23440696.watford-agree-professional-terms-academy-striker/ Where will he be sent out on loan .
Was late last year sometime . https://www.watfordfc.com/news/official-louza-signs-fresh-long-term-deal Won’t mean much !
Sounds like right at the start of Bilic's time in charge, so yeah, won't mean much if anyone, Udinese or otherwise, decides they want him
Uncle Ron not happy the club haven’t made the release /retained list public yet (apparently don’t have to straight away ) but presume they are in talks with some or will just let players leave without any announcement.
They’ll keep it a secret for no other reason than to annoy the fanbase. It’s what they always do. We should be used to it by now.
Something else for Ron to complain about? As HB1 they probably do it each season and the club will probably suddenly announce new contracts for players or let them go without saying anyway like with Mariappa. I am not sure that many players are out of contract. Briss Bacuna Cleverley Cathcart I can see the last 2 being offered new deals at least. Presume we are just meant to assume the loan players are going back to their clubs.
As I said earlier, it's meaningless anyway. They could announce they've released every player he wants to see the back of but it's not a permanent or binding commitment, it's just an end of season snapshot. The could sign them all up to new 5 year contracts the very next day.
Which is probably why we're taking our time to announce them, waiting on the outcome of possible talks with the likes of Britt, Bacuna, Cleverley and Cathcart
