A Draw? Would it? They are up. They are champions as we won’t catch them with a draw in all reality. I propose and advocate for the yellow alliance
Norwich do model themselves as a family club now, and have for years, sustainability, and integrity against the prem elite. There is a lot GT would have thought was good about them.
We are still 6 points ahead of our rivals with 4or 5 games to go. I can’t remember such a position (I’m sure I’ll be proved wrong. Luton was ****, everything about that accursed town is but let’s move on.
You are correct, regarding points total etc. I think most people don't trust the players to see it through!
I wouldn't rush anyone back for this game - having a fully fit squad for the home game with Millwall is more important IMHO
Is Norwich almost a free hit? I don't want to lose obviously, but since we thankfully still have clear daylight between us and B & S, is it worth being conservative with the players absent today? Sanchez I thought was OK today (was a bit last ditch from him at times, but didn't do much wrong), although I don't want to see Lazaar and Navarro again is possible
I'm sure he wouldn't have liked them basically accepting relegation from the off last season, although it is difficult to balance sustainability and success on the pitch
Agree although, if we lose against Norwich and Swansea and Brentford both win, the pressure is on and I don’t have much faith in these players to rise to the occasion in such circumstances.
That’s not the game I remember Skyla, and looking at the stats Norwich had 66% possession and 13 shots to our 7. We scored with our only shot on target. Let’s hope they have their cider slippers and party bonnets on.
If they win tonight, just a point would secure the title for them, if not, they'd need to win against us
We had a few good chances that were snatched by Deeney and Gray tbf, was a bit last-ditch at times, but in all, it was a very good performance from us, Foster didn't have a serious save to make. They did have players out, although so did we, and we were persisting with that awful 4-4-2 as well
Must win game off the back of 4 poor performance (Sarr’s golden 3 mins excepted). Will they be in a celebratory mood and put 7 past us or just kill time and allow us to get something out of the game. Thank god B&S could only draw today. That may pray on their minds more than that defeat will weigh on ours. Other than the odd game in our recent run, we have been poor away from home. A point would be a great result but after today’s result would it be enough ?
Navarro, Lazaar and Success need to be nowhere near the squad on Tuesday. Not even on the bench. I would rather Wilmot LB than Lazaar. If Masina is still out then it has to be Wilmot at LB if we insist on playing 4 at the back. If Ngakia is injured, then stick Kaba/Cathcart there. Don’t care they don’t play there, anyone is better than having Navarro and Lazaar on the pitch. PZ7 and Ekong need to be dropped. Ekong especially. If we have near full strength we have to line up with Bachmann/Foster - don’t care who at this point Ngakia Wilmot/Kaba Sierralta Masina Hughes, Gosling (Chalobah if fit), Cleverley Sarr Pedro Sema If we’re fearing the worst that Masina, Chalobah and Ngakia are all out and Xisco insists on a back four Bachmann/Foster Kaba, Cathcart, Sierralta, Wilmot Hughes, Gosling, Cleverley Sarr, Pedro, Sema Perica’s needs to replace Success on the bench.
Pressure on them too tbf, some tricky games for them, Brentford have to go to Bournemouth and Swansea to Reading probably without their star striker. I don't think we'll get anything at Norwich, but I don't think Brentford will at Bournemouth, if that comes to pass, a win against Millwall and everything is OK and we'd a cushion going into the final two games
If we win this game, it will erase the horror of today at a stroke. Not many would have factored in a win here in their calculations. Whereas today certainly has dented us, a victory in this one would put us firmly back on track.
34% possession at home against a team of equal standing can’t be described as a ‘very good performance’ in my book. But each to their own.
We’re all out of sorts since the international break and need to try something new. Whether a change of shape or just personnel, we can’t keep playing the same team when performances are this poor. Lucky to have 2 wins from the last 4.
Nice, but I would actually swap out Gozzers for Hungbo. Maybe it's what we need right now - a fresh face with some pace.
Agreed. Success is not the cavalry However IMO neither is Perica Surely we have a fox in the box in the under 23s \21s even if long term they are not good enough?
Hopefully Masina is fit and ready to go, ditto Ngakia, the alternatives don't bear thinking about. I'd go with Cathcart with Sierralta, he's solid and doesn't give me nightmares with the ball at his feet, although I fully expect it will be WTE yet again. I would imagine Chalobah will be fit, so him to come in instead of Sanchez (who did OK, but is probably better off coming off the bench). I'd drop Sema, been off it more than most since the break, shift Zinckernagel out wide left and start Clev in that #10 position. Sarr did seem to pull up in the first half, didn't look good, but it didn't seem to affect him in the second half so I imagine he's fit
Someone must have a goal in them . I know it is the hardest part of football. But we must have someone , anyone, on the staff, who can come on with 10 to go. Know where the back stick is and shin roll one in during a crisis. Surely?.
PZ7 has been poor. Not surprised though, he’s come in after already playing a full season in Norway. He looks shattered. He has been so weak in the last few games, not up for the fight. Sema has equally been poor, but LW is his natural position, not Pz7’s. That’s why I would drop him. On another note, let’s hope Pukki, Buendia and Cantwell all get crippled tonight. Also, Hanley to be sent off.
