Ah OK. I tried googling it to find whether the verdicts were unanimous or not but couldn't find it. So only 1 verdict was unanimous - interesting. Yes, presumably the same dissenter.

But that is exactly what I said!

@HappyHornet24 said the deaths "stopped" once Letby left.

I pointed out they didn't stop unfortunately - they reduced. The investigation concerned a 'spike' in deaths during that period.

What? You are clearly not familiar with the details so perhaps better to pipe down.

"Letby claimed the note was not a confession and that she wrote it after being moved off the unit, in July 2016, because she was struggling with being blamed for something she hadn’t done."

I would have thought that the last thing someone would write, who was upset about being wrongly blamed for something, would be “I did this. I killed them on purpose..”

Hard to say really isn't it? What effect would it have on someone's mental health being blamed for the death of babies you're caring for?

I find it equally tough to believe that cold calculating killer would write a confession note and leave it to be found by the police.

The headline of the scribbles is "not good enough" and underlined. It seems to.me more than possible she was beating herself up about not having been able to do more and not being competent enough at her job.

You know what, I’m not an armchair sleuth pouring over all the evidence and cross examination of a 10 month trial.
    10 MONTHS!
So I’m going to take your advice and not comment on Letby again in an opinion forum of, er, opinions.

You obviously know better, but I do think there are better ways than telling me to ‘pipe down’.

The conspiracy theorists will continue to know better how this poor murderer young dedicated nurse has been falsely convicted after 10 months of evidence of murdering 7 (seven) babies and attempting to murder 6 (six) more.
Not one baby, but individually convicted on 13 separate counts of 13 lives.

Maybe the jury has really f**ked up and the defence lawyers didn’t do a good job of highlighting enough doubt considering nurse Letby was innocent until proven guilty.

I don't think it's fair to compare what happened to a little spate of 'unexpected' deaths.

Well it's just that normally they would be fully aboard the hang her and flog her evil fascination thing. See Rose West, Myra Hindley etc etc.

It's just interesting that they've taken a completely different line this time.

Piggy says: "I wish someone else would ask this: What if Lucy Letby is not guilty?"

Obviously hasn't read this thread then..

“I worked on that unit for over 25 years . The manager was downgraded from a band 8a to a band 7. She was humiliated & demoralised. When she left, the job was not externally advertised but Eirean Powell who was a band 6 was appointed & given a band 7.

The 2 band 7 sisters, one was given early retirement & the other was side lined into another department. A band 6 was told there was no job for her having trained for 2 years to be an advanced neonatal nurse practitioner so she left. Another band 6 left as there was no career structure.

I was the ANNP & I was served compulsory redundancy. You cannot run a neonatal unit with no experienced senior staff. The consultants never came near unless they had a ward round or were called to see a sick baby. The junior drs were not career paediatricians but gp trainees .

The babies who died were not well babies as portrayed. Some of them had infections, they were premature & multiple births which makes them vulnerable.

The unit was not fit for purpose, the drains were constantly blocking, there was sewage, all of which increased the risk of infection. One time we had an outbreak of black flies & an exterminator had to be called . Lucy was one of only 3 full time staff & she was working extra shifts ( one week she worked 60hours ) so statistically she would be on duty when babies became ill.

She is getting compared to Harold shipman who was a pethidine addict who was getting his patients to change their wills in favour of him , all his victims died of diamorphine overdoses. Beverly allit had a serious personality disorder, she was not popular , an odd person , her victims all died of insulin poisoning & she was caught with insulin.

Lucy doesn’t fit any of these profiles, she was popular, hard working. A serial killer does not change their mod so Lucy is using air embolism, insulin, dislodging Et tubes , none of it makes sense . I truly believe she is innocent”

Thank you for this valuable post.

How anyone can read that and not see how a retrial is essential is beyond me.

But if 11 c-retinous members of the public declare her guilty then I guess that's that, right.
