It seems like we always go down after beating Liverpool. Seeing as we are going down, we will smash them.

I can't select more than 5 and we win? This poll is flawed.

Can't see us losing this, a shock 1:0 win for us or a draw.
Looking forward to our fans coming here to moan afterwards about how poor our defence was and how Liverpool were unfortunate not to have scored despite having 17 shots on target and hitting the post 4 times.

Cannot muster any enthusiasm for this whatsoever. This kind of game is just pointless, we know that as soon as they score the first goal it's over, just like the cup final. There is nothing enjoyable about your club being humiliated, hard to express how much I despise the big clubs and the anti-competitive nature of the Premier League.

Having said that, as the game approaches, I'll no doubt start convincing myself we can get something out of it, right up until the point we give away a mindless penalty after three minutes.

The anti-competitive nature stems mainly from Man City and Liverpool, not just against the teams below the top seven but against their fellow big teams - two recent examples being Man Utd getting well beaten by Man City before beating Spurs via a Ronaldo hat trick, and Arsenal losing at home to Liverpool before seemingly being back to business as usual in their win at Villa. To illustrate how much more competitive the Championship is, free-scoring Fulham deservedly lost at mid-table and out-of-form West Brom while not having even a shot on goal at half-time and in the end only having one shot on target despite having 65% possession, while Bournemouth were held at home by struggling Reading after taking the lead. In the equivalent games in the Premier League, their opponents would have got destroyed.

Our players will know it's well and truly over after last night and won't even bother.

If they don't score at least 6 I'll be amazed.

I think you could already swap them with someone who has a 'full view' ticket & charge at least £10 for the deal.

Yes, it’s really depressing that Man City and Liverpool are now expected to beat everyone except each other, to the extent that it’s a big shock when they only draw with someone like Palace. Even worse that the media seem to enjoy this situation and just indulge in hand-wringing about how terrible it is that Man U struggle to come fourth.

Not expecting anything from this game as long as we don't get thrashed I'll be reasonably happy, but of course if we do mange to get something from this game I will be ecstatic :)

It will just be irritating if we get anything from this game as it would just show once again that the team can do it when they can be bothered. It will be irritating if we get relegated by only 3-6 points as we will end up looking back to a couple of games we lost but shouldn’t have eg Brentford and Norwich. Relegation will be a lot easier to stomach if we are relegated by 10+ points.

Chelsea take it easy on us for some reason no matter how good they are and how rubbish we are (the 4-0 in 2006/07 and a couple of thrashings in the FA Cup when we were a crap Div. 1/Championship side apart - and even one of them followed a 2-2 draw to take them to a replay in Ray’s second season). Imagine having to get a result there to stay up if we managed to take it to the final day…

Is it that depressing or is it just their era? Two well coached, well managed clubs. Man United was seen as an automatic defeat 15 years as was Chelsea 10 years ago.

I think someone posted an athletic article not long ago that showed the trend since the PL started was that the top teams are getting more and more points every year. I seem to remember from the article that as dominant as Utd were, in their pomp they never achieved anywhere near the points totals Liverpool and a city have recently. Hopefully someone can repost it.

The last time I went to watch us play at Anfield was when it was Ian Rush's final game for the reds before his big money move to Juventus in 1986, we got smashed and my shoes got a little wet on the soles due to some traditional Liverpool piss as I stood near the front in the magical Kop end. It's what dreams are made out of innit.

Easy game. Those 3 points are basically ours already. We should play the U-23s to give Liverpool a chance.

I wont say it's impossible to get something from this game. If we play well and Liverpool have an off day, then who knows, it's football after all. But all being equal it's unlikely we'll get anything from this game. Same applies to City away. But I feel we have a chance of picking up points in every other game we're going to play this season.....even at Chelsea, so it's not the end of the world if we lose this one.

The table looks a bit bleak right now, but had we played Everton yesterday and won, then staying up would look a lot more doable. We'd be level on points with Everton, and 4 behind Leeds with us still to play them at home. We still have a big say in our own destination.

I still think it's Brentford who we've got to catch though, as I believe Everton and Leeds will be helped by the officials. The establishment do not want to lose Everton or Leeds to Watford or Burnley. That's just not going to be allowed, so we have to chase down Brentford. They are currently 8 points clear of us, however, we play them also at home so have the chance to reduce that to 5 points. Hopefully they'll lose at Leicester today meaning we'll have a game in hand. Win that (Everton at home), then we're just 2 points behind them and anything can happen then.

I didn’t mean it was depressing that it was City and Liverpool, who of course are both terrific teams. It’s the gap between them and even the likes of Man U that is depressing. We used to laugh at the Scottish league for being like that.

The bottom line is if we win our home games we will stay up and these games are winnable not that our current home form is any good !.
Liverpool Man City and Chelsea away are free hits so to speak

We will probably need to win 5 more games so five of the 6 winnable games if you dismiss the 3 free hits. The sad fact is that a point or even 3 at Liverpool, however unlikely, probably won’t affect our destiny.

I’d like three points here, so can we please be a bit MORE POSITIVE and get BEHIND the team!

Without a shift in sentiment, we’re likely to suffer a heavy defeat. And we all know who TO blame.

Look at what MY optimism did vs Southampton. It’s time to BELIEVE.

We’ve all seen what’s happened to United and Everton, now opposition FANS think they can beat them. #LEARNLESSONS

When you are in a relegation dogfight not only do our own errors haunt us but brain farts from other teams affect us as well..Newcastle/Wolves . However this is of our own making.

Watching this Crystal Palace team with total envy and feel repulsed.

Eze, Olise, Zaha, Gallagher, Guehi, Andersen, Hughes, Edouard.

That attacking front 3 is a dream behind any good striker. Loan system used well, two solid centre backs with high resale value. So, so jealous.
