    Or quite possibly, 7 points.

That would be bleak, but of course very possible. However, if we went on a nosedive run like that Xisco would be gone and we'd pick up a few points from the new manager bounce. I can't see us still being on 7 points after 17 matches.

We all knew this was coming. Its why we had to start reasonably well. Inagine if we had 2 or 3 points now and hadnt won a game. We would be staring down the barrel.

I do agree though that if you cant see us beating leeds or Saints, or picking up any wins v the likes of Brentford, Everton, Burnley or Leicester then we'll go down. But you might of well say " if we lose every game - I think we might be in trouble". We won't lose every game.

You very much don't have to lose every game in the Prem to be in trouble though, do you, and it's not really the same as the Championship where Peterborough will suddenly go to West Brom and smash them up - we can reasonably say with the team as it stands/the way that it's playing, that we won't be posing any threat to the Liverpools and Chelseas of this world.

It's only relevant because people were using it as evidence to say that Frank is a better coach. Highly selective.

I think you can draw that conclusion despite Munoz getting us out of the championship sooner though.

Warnock has been great at getting teams out of the championship but has rarely been trusted in the PL or good enough when given the chance.

Hughton and Brighton, Adkins and Southampton, both got them out of the championship but not trusted or wanted in the PL.

Ivic had a better record than Munoz at a higher level, but massively over complicated the championship and did worse than Munoz.

As mentioned Jokanovich got us out in less than a season but sacked by us and Fulham and not had a job in the PL since.

They are two distinctly different challenges, with the PL obviously being a significantly harder one requiring a let more tactical know how.

Had no issues after the Play Off Final and ,most Leeds fans I meant said we thoroughly deserved it and were more disappointed in their own teams performance than anything else. Elland Road is certainly one of the more livelier places to go. I remember going there when Gary Penrice gave us the lead. There was a chap standing next to me, fairly young who had a bit of extra timber and the Leeds fans kept shouting Sumo at him, a name which I believe stuck with him. Think he's banned currently

Point is, why look at 13 games and think we'll get not enough points. Its stating the obvious to say we need to win games and being defeatist to say "we wont get enough points"

  9. Maybe it's my happy clapper glass half full enjoying the season mentality, but we've still got a relatively new team all still bonding. We did look shocking Vs Newcastle that's agreed. My head was in my hands more than it wasn't and some of the decision making and passing was shocking.

But 5 of the starting 11 were new to the team this year. 7 of the 14 that played a part in fact. Tufan's first proper game.

Munoz does seem a little green and naive but we're playing teams with one or two changes so majority of squads with full seasons together.

Whether Munoz is the right man or not, the team did need time to bed in together.

I fully expected us to be on 2 or 3 points so far. We have got a difficult couple of months coming up but after that 6 further games with opportunities.

If we play like Saturday then Leeds will tonk us probably as Newcastle were awful.

Just think the team needs time to bond and 7 points so far isn't a bad tally, despite some of the performances.

Sorry, I'm not sure what the 13 games part refers to?

People are saying we're looking unlikely to get enough points as it stands because our performances have been almost uniformly poor to terrible, and we're not showing signs of improvement or learning from them, nor any more tactical awareness, understanding or cohesion on the pitch, despite insistence from corners like Leventhal's that Xisco is 'still learning' - a far from ideal situation in the first place, but also not even one that actually seems to be the case.

I'm not sure why you believe that 3 points would be staring down the barrel at this stage, but that 7 points is a magic fix, to be honest - we're assessing it based on the likelihood of getting further points to take us to the likely total required, having seen and assessed the other teams in the league relative to us. Some of those assessments come across very badly - Newcastle fans themselves are worried they will be relegated this season, the team facing us was shorn of its single best/most effective player, and it started with Isaac Hayden being fielded as one of three centre backs and Sean Longstaff in central midfield, and yet they utterly dominated us for the vast majority of the match, at Vicarage Road. The stats are embarrassing to look at, as are images of what our team shape was at various points in the game.

The only result that comes across at all well, which is responsible for almost half our points total, has some serious asterisks when you take the state of the opposition into account - we aren't likely to get any points that easily again, and even then we did it going from 3-0 up to 3-2 thanks to poor substitutions and idiotic defensive decision-making, with Masina almost looking to give away a second penalty before the game was up.

We don't look equipped for this league, as a team, as it stands. Dismissing it as 'defeatist' is both to totally ignore the context we have been witness to up to this point in terms of our performances, as well as our opponents, but also meaningless - any 'defeatism' here isn't what's going to be affecting the play/players/tactics/league position - it's the coaching.

I don't think we will be good enough to beat the teams in the lower half or the other relegation candidates.
I cannot see us reaching 40pts or reaching enough points for safety.
Most on here acknowledge that we are going to survive in the Premier league.
It is what happens after our relegation which will be important. The Championship is currently an awful standard. Will we be strong enough to mount a promotion challenge in 2022/23?
You have to beat the teams in the mini relegation league, l do not see this happening. We were battered by Newcastle and stole a 1-1 draw.
We will not be so lucky in the upcoming games.
    Interesting times indeed.

I don't disagree with any of that, with the small caveat that Frank has managed, what, 6 games, in the PL but is being lauded to the skies on here. Very early days. Without checking, it is quite possible that e.g. Adkins had a decent start too - I seem to remember he was sacked with them about 14th, but may be wrong...

I bumped into that Billy Bremner at a Shakin Stevens gig. In my defence, I only went to see the support band.
The only thing I had with me was a pack of Benson & Hedges, so I got him to sign that. Still embarrassed about it.

Absolutely right. We are totally rubbish and no prospect of us getting better even though we are effectively a new team..

Whereas all our rivals look brilliant.

In fact, I don't even know why we bother even playing. May as well just award the three points to the opposition up front.

Leeds will win i think. They played good stuff first half against West Ham despite missing key men and had opportunities to score more. Against us every chance of putting them away. I can see this game being a bit like the Brighton one.
