Bizarre decision with 3 days to go of a test match...they would never be able to bat for that long, especially with the weather likely to be changeable, and even if Oz lead by 200 and England only get to bat by lunch on Day 5 it'd have been theirs to win. Oh well.

I hate to say it, but we dont't want to loose, hense why I can see the reason for Strauss opting to bat again. With today's fine weather, the Aussies most of likely would have got a lot of runs today (like we are doing) and saved the game and even might have put themselves in a winning position by getting a big 600 odd score by tomorrow. This way, with cloudy/changable weather on the way, favouring swing bowlers like Onions, we have 2 days to bowl them out, and can attack knowing they are defending a big lead.

34-2 now, Hughes caught off Flintoff.

The first wicket was a no ball, that was never a legit catch. Two fortuitous wickets for England!

Brilliant!!!phuck the Aussies bout time they copped some bad luck let's hope one of those balls that ponting got to his hand give him a blood clot and he has to have his hand amputated! I hate him so much! Can't wait to rub it in some Aussie faces @ work tomorrow. But if we win they'll just blame it on bad umpiring over here and not the fact we were the better team. Australians are bad winners and even worse losers!!

I think I was the only one that was actually happy with Strauss's decision to bat again and not enforce the follow on!!

It was the correct decision. The conditions were good and the pitch was still flat. All we needed was to add 300 quick runs to our 200+ lead, and give ourselves 2 days to bowl the Aussies out.

Good captaincy. Shut up Botham, you lothesome, tiresome, boring, dull c**t.

I think we'll skittle them before the end of play tonight!

Reading the Times they all seemed to think we should have enforced the follow on because the Aussies would have been downbeat and needed the time to recover which we "gave them" by batting again.

Well I think Struass is being proved right.

They probably just didn't have the faith in our batsmen to score quickly (ok it was sticky for a whille when KP was in with Bopara),,,

Australia won't do it. They'll definitely lose. But some pretty benign bowling from England in the middle there as the old ball lost it's usefulness has let them off the hook a bit. Quick wickets in the morning with the still new ball though and it could be over by lunch.

That's what the brain says. But the heart - having been crushed by these horrible aussies time and again - says their last two at bat will manage in the final over of the day. They'll probably do it.
