I didn't know he played for Northern Ireland. Us even reaching 2.2 players would seem a struggle then!
If we are lucky and get relegated early on, maybe we can flood the team with english yoofs to improve our stats ?
and there we go, VI says he needs full backs and we don't have enough... yet more joined up thinking from Pozzo and those who were screaming to defend this move
We need players in many positions. Only one striker, playing a CB as your first choice DMF, no backup keeper…..now wingbacks. It’s just ridiculous.
Do we need more fullbacks though? I am inclined to disagree, we have Lewis to come in and Andrews has been fine although admittedly he wasn't great yesterday. Other areas are certainly need covering first.
The problem is Andrews is currently the only one, and he's a kid who is liable to have games like he did yesterday. Also can't think of anyone who would come in to replace him if he got injured if Ngakia isn't fit, at least Sema can cover as a LB
I somewhat agree with your points but from what I have seen Ngakia was back in training at the end of last week. I would not be against signing another right back but I think we should be prioritising other areas first. Having said this I would have rather kept Ferrera and it's my opinion JF moving has more to do with Kingsley Ehizibue being injured at Udinese than anything beneficial for us.
Not sure it's necessarily "yesman", more just lied to. I'm sure each new manager is promised all sorts to get them through the door. Certainly Edwards and Bilic were pretty vocal about it. Ranieri and Hodgson were a couple of yesmen. (Very) old mates who dropped in to do the minimum for a load of money and happily towed the party line.
Yep, I'm sure all our head coaches are promised backing in the market. Pozzo and Duxbury see no issue with screwing over head coaches, Ismael is just the latest to have fallen for it.
Juventus had taken their foot firmly off the gas though. Although Juventus still had a goal disallowed harshly which basically come from Ferreira being out of position and Juve getting the cross in.
I was wondering about this - did he actually say he ONLY wanted 2 players per position or did he say he wanted 2 players in each position and its been misconstrued by those defending the Ferreira move?
Gino tried to talk him down to 1 player per position. But in the end they settled on 2, once he realised academy kids could be used.
I swear he never said either. Leventhal reported the ‘Ismael wants 2 per position’ line. If probably does mean ‘at least 2’ if it was genuinely from Ismael, but I think more likely it’s Duxbury or Giaretta running their mouths again telling media that we’re selling all our players because that’s what the head coach wants. Nothing to do with them.
