Loaned out to Udinese for the season, assume that we must be signing another RB/RWB as we’ve only got Ngakia and Andrews now
Strange one, thought he would fit the system well this year and he’s certainly better than Ngakia. Hopefully we get Ebosele in return
Seems likely to me like the player's agent chirped into his ear and convinced him to force a move to Serie A. The Championship isn't for everyone. If you;er not up for a scrap, it will eat you alive. If a player doesn't want to be here, they shouldn't be.
And add players on Instragram. Don't forget that bit. According to the social media sages that's the real sign of scouting excellence.
What's the money on us not replacing him, and Ismael being forced to rely on Andrews (the enjoyable and promising but extremely callow barely-adult) and Ngakia?
Is this asset stripping now? Pozzo seems to be jettisoning as many players as possible at this point.
It could well be or our debts are even worse than thought. But this has also become a traditional time of year for players who don’t fancy a season in the Championship to down tools.
So Manga is essentially given one permanent signing in two windows, who is then shipped off to Udinese after 5 starts? (In which he played well). Sure he's ******* delighted he came here. If we think that is sufficient RB quality/depth for a VI side, we are going to find ourselves getting relegated.
Surprised by this. Got the impression that Ferreira did ok in the friendlies while Ngakia played very much like he was 3rd choice from what I saw of him. We dont really need 3 right backs I guess and Ferreira was easier to move on.
Well you do have to wonder, its certainly a funny way of building a team - ship out younger players who you would have thought would have been part of any rebuild like Hungbo & Fereira and replace them with fading 30+ year olds on short contracts like Ince
For me, that will be the final straw. I'm going to be watching Manga closely as to how he feels about this move. There's a Q&A on 10th August, so we'll quickly be able to gauge his views on this. If it's his call, then so be it, but if he's been undermined, then it's the beginning of the end I should imagine.
The "at your place" will definitely be interesting. To be fair they can't say too much about deals in the pipeline, but if they say "we are happy that the squad we have can get promoted" then we know we're f***ed and they're taking the pi**s.
I bet there’s a cheeky ‘obligation to buy for £1m if Udinese aren’t relegated’. Just to somewhat mask the mass exodus to Udine.
Do you actually bet that? There hasn’t been a single such deal like that with Udinese. Every player we have actually sold to Udinese has been at or above market at the time of sale.
Hmmm, I'm a bit conflicted, I think he has bags of talent, but he strikes me as a bit flaky, while he definitely showed more in his brief time on the pitch than Ngakia, I'd have Andrews over him. A bit frustrated, as I thought our full-backs were looking fairly set (with Ferreira filling in at LB if needed), although if he's going to Udinese then surely we can nab one of theirs (cough cough Ebosele)
Signed for £2 million six months ago and now loaned off to Udinese a few days before the start of the season despite our only other senior right back being a genuinely terrible footballer. All very normal.
Ngakia should be nowhere near Championship football, let alone starting games for a club with 'ambitions of promotions', so this is yet another confusing and nonsensical transfer by the powers that be. I really hoped things would've changed by now.
I've always tried to be pretty neutral/positive but this summer the club reached new depths of absurdity. People need to wake up.
