Favourite TV Series

I think that must of been after I turned it off as I only watched about 5 minutes

 

It’s not an uncommon device to have actors talking directly to the audience. Shakespeare wrote it like that all the time. Trainspotting, iirc, has dialogue like that.

It’s a good drama.

 

Breaking the fourth wall makes sense seeing as the series is based on a published diary.

 

The 'writing' is all over the place... leading to totally farcical dialogue between unbelievable characters in ludicrous situations. The academic snob in me is trying not to say it's Line of Duty for an ITV audience. TBF I never actually thought that Vicky McClure was that great an actor (even in 'This Is England...").

 

Quite liking the Pam and Tommy thing on Disney+. I read the Motley Crue biography years back and they certainly got up to some stuff.

 

I only really remember her saying ‘Woody’ indignantly. Same goes for the series.

I went out with a lass from Nottingham for a few years so the accent proper sets me on edge.

 

All of them are (were?) on C4's iplayer thingy. Well worth a re-watch just for the bangin' soundtracks and "...ohhhh it's whatwisname...." moments.

 

I'm just finishing episode 2. It's bloody slow. Does anything actually start to happen?

 

I can’t say it gets any faster, in fact it’s probably a little overlong.

What is it you want, a car chase? A shoot out? Alien invasion? It’s a psychological thriller.

 

A king fu fight would be nice, or some explosions, or even some toilet jokes.

If you’ve not been enjoying it, yes, stop watching.

It’s not the Wire. You can live without it. It is, imo, decent enough and occasionally very good, but that’s it.

 

From the trailers, the Pam and Tommy actors certainly look the part.

I hadn’t heard of her so apologies if you have, but the person who plays Pam is a British actress called Lilly James who really looks nothing like her in real life.

 

What about custard pies? I would accept buckets of wallpaper paste poured into the characters' over large trousers.

 

Fair enough. I was trying to stick with it if it was gonna turn really good, but so far it's all just confusing/annoying. She seems to be going to great lengths for no real reason.

 

Finished season 1 of Reacher. Silly and unbelievable, but good fun.
