Agreed. You'll all get tired of me going on about how Gestede would have been a great signing for us (even scored today), but ho hum... I also still think Guedioura would do a good job filling in for either Capoue or Behrami.
Think we need to sign another quality CDM as they are integral to this formation . Only one back up in Watson , is not enough .
From experience, Everton fans are usually first class. Good bunch of supporters. Can't say the same about the Wolves fans still giving Nic grief on the facebook post/BBC article about him returning to football.
It wasn't malicious - the ball was free in the box and had Deeney got to it first he probably would have scored. In those circumstances I think that Deeney being a bit over-exuberant was understandable and was probably what saved him from a red card. Also, while the tackle was two footed, he did have both feet on the ground (he didn't go over the ball, which is how ankle breaks usually happen). I still could have understood the red card being shown though.
Where's this? edit: just seen this. If he's a known hooly, I assume this'll come out in court. I also reckon we'll hear nothing of the sort.
People commenting on them looking a lot more dangerous down our left than out right - tbf to Holebas, dealing with Coleman overlapping and bobbing forward is an entirely different prospect to Galloway, a right footed youngster who's made a handful of appearance, playing at LB.
Deeney was very lucky to stay on. Two footed lunge... But I think he lunged and his standing leg slipped into it. Yellow was probably fair, but i'd have been annoyed if it was the other way round. Behrami also could have been sent off for a potential ankle breaker, but again I don't think he did it on purpose, or with any aggression.
Cathcart was bloody close to blocking Kone's equaliser. A split second later across and he'd have put it out for a corner.
Expected reactions that would come from fans of any clubs. Glad a fair few give credit where its due (towards us)
As I said the other day, they are an arrogant bunch Their minds can't comprehend that maybe we have a better team than them Take Barkley out, Stones, Baines, Lukaku, maybe, and they are barely better than anything we faced in the championship last season Bottom half team
Take out Barkley, Stones, Baines, Lukaku and you can't ignore Coleman or Mirallas So you're basically saying if you take out 6 of their best players they're not better than a Championship team? Well state the obvious? What a bizzare point you made
Some of them are just deluded - they apparently saw him giving his number out in the ground.... Course you did....
Thought we were brill, especially first half. We seemed to have a fair few players knackered by the end though. Behrami holding his hamstring is a worry as well. Deeney lucky not to be sent off having seen it again. Both goals were frustratingly close to being blocked as well. Oh well. West Brom a winnable game, come on!
Christ, if our fans put as much effort into supporting the club as they did scouring social media for alternative viewpoints...
Succinct summary post of the week. We'll surprise a few this season, and it'll feel so good to throw 99% of pundits pre season predictions back in their face..
Christ if our fans spent as much time ignoring threads that didn't interest them..... Out of interest how am I supposed to support my club better: I work in Devon, yet I still own a season ticket (which ive had for 10 years) and get to as many games as I can. I also have a subscription to hornets player and bought a shirt this year. I'm really not sure what your getting at here.
Great day out and very encouraging start from a team who will only get better as they get used to each other. Capoue and Berhami were class investments and make a massive difference when we aren't going to have too much possession, breaking the game up and keeping the ball well. Nyom a beast again, and will really help our attacking impetus, as will Holebas. Deeney led the line admirably and in Jurado we have a proper player. Add Diamanti and Berghuis when ready, plus Abdi when fit, and we won't be short of playmakers.
Missed the first goal stuck on a coach on the M6. I was fearful that we'd bought in too many players at the start of the season but those doubts were cast aside today, still a long way to go but if that performance is anything to go by then we will surprise a lot of sides in this league.
I wish the transfer window closed before the start of the season. Not because I don't want us to sign anyone else, but because I think we're in a much better position than several other teams are at the moment. I think all teams would sign as many players as we have if they had the ability to find the players, but they simply don't have the scouting systems to find affordable, talented players. Losses for Sunderland, Norwich and Bournemouth are likely to see them add a few players to their teams regardless of cost and come September the gap between us and them could be massively narrowed, admittedly dependent on a huge spend from other teams.
Just re watched game on Sky and the way Ighalo put Stones on the floor prior to scoring was s thing of beauty .
https://vine.co/v/ewpFnjdnWO5 Lovely the way he rips the pi$$ out of Stones. Puts him on his arse, waits for him to get up, then does it again - and scores.
