I mean us receiving a good one from elsewhere! For me Dennis is worth a gamble again at the right fee, we all know what he can do when he's on it.
That’s what we like to hear, @Burnsy! I’d take him back either way, but would much much rather get him back on a permanent deal (as I discussed on the other thread). Getting lots of loanees in this winter just kicks the can down the road to a big rebuild when we inevitably don’t get promoted in the summer. We do a lot of business with Macquarie, earning them a lot of fees. We are a big institutional client. If they are confident enough in our overall credit (which is certainly an open question) but if they are, they will show some flexibility here and restructure the loan/facility.
If Forest are desperate to off load, either we get a decent loan deal or we sign him back fairly cheaply but with a large sell on percentage like 50%.
If they owe us £12m in future fee and we sign him for £12m, it has cost us £12m that we now can't use to repay debt unless we cut from other budgeted spend. The only way it would make sense would be if it was a fairly nominal fee and they just want him out of their squad, off their payroll, and out of the building. We'd still have an issue over his salary unless NF gave him a pay off of some sort to reflect his lower salary with us.
I've just seen they've cancelled a loan deal they signed in the summer, so perhaps they aren't as worried about their 25 man squad now anyway!
If he's willing to join us again on a permanent deal, even in the Championship, and he'd cost a relatively small fee, then in line with my earlier comments that'd be a very good deal for us as in the Championship he should be excellent, and he'd to some extent mitigate against us likely losing Sarr in the summer if we fail to get promoted.
This is what I was trying to get at, it’s not so much the restructuring of the Macquarie deal, it’s more that ultimately we’re reliant on the £15m we sold him for. Our finances already seem incredibly stretched, so there isn’t such a thing as a free lunch unless they literally give to us for nothing by still paying us the £15m we’re expecting from them, and we pay them zero in return.
Apparently, Dennis refused point blank to applaud the (Palar5e) fans when Woy told him to. That's just one example.
If we signed Dennis it would probably be something along the lines of a free loan, and Forest pay half his salary. If we are promoted we write off what they owe us and sign him permanently. It makes sense for them as they free up a squad position, lose their obligation to pay us further instalments and save on half a salary. We get a player who can help us gain promotion, for nothing, just paying a going rate salary. If we go up we get him back having made profit on the first instalment, if we don’t go up then Forest have him back and can sell him to a wider market, but we still get the full £15m. Sounds like everyone’s a winner.
Oh he could actually be coming back for real? Scrap everything I said, he's a brilliant player and we should do everything we can to get him back.
That's good enough for me! Bring him back. "Silly old Roy, silly old Roy Couldn't remember the school song, Stayed around for too long. Silly old Roy, silly old Roy "
Vialli was na*ve, but wanted the best for us Hodgson was aloof and contemptuous. One of the most dislikeable people in football, which surprised me really Edit: interesting swear filter
I know this was a joke, but actually they don't. Greek Orthodox church use Gregorian calendar, which means they celebrate it on the 25th of December. Most of the other Orthodox churches(including mine(Serbian)) celebrate it on the 7th of January, as those churches still use Julian calendar.
Why wouldn't we want Dennis? He'd be stupidly good in the Championship. Who cares if some of our losers didn't like him last season.
Boothroyd did it with Ellington, I think most managers maybe Wenger aside would spend every penny their club gave them.
And then sued us despite us being on the verge of bankruptcy. The guy was a total ****. Hodgson was one to
Yep, was happy to see us go to the wall for a few extra quid that he didn’t need. Someone saying he ‘wanted the best for us’ is sickening to the maximum and a painful rewrite of history.
Something I had forgotten...the current technical director of Forest is a certain Mr Giraldi. Would imagine that would make any negotiations a little smoother.
I think that is, in part, because all Orthodox churches believe that the Easter should be celebrated after the Jewish holiday Pesach(Passover) because it is believed that Jesus celebrated Pesach with his disciples the night before he was crucified. Other churches (Catholic, Protestant) don't think it needs to be after Pesach. And of course the calendar played it's part too.
The Greek Church adopted the Gregorian calendar for all fixed festivals but retains the Julian for all movable ones like Easter. I don't know why, but it also has nothing to do with Emanuel Dennis. Anyone want a barbecue with some lamb souvla?
The orthodox Armenians celebrate Christmas on 6th January for some unknown reason. Catholic ones go with the 25th Dec.
