Presume he didn’t carry out his threat then when not sold !? Which makes me think he is over egging it a bit but then would be Troy to make loud brash statements .
I doubt any of this happened, the guy is a fantasist. Unfortunately because he did so well here he began to believe the hype, and now he lives in a dream world. The 2 goal, 98th minute winner Vs Huddersfield has already been disproved by another poster. The injuring story was actually by Carl ****inson (https://twitter.com/UndrTheCosh/status/1292541170535538690?t=xy5BW3HEqs8Glr2ZbhbG9g&s=19) and Troy is just trying to impress his buddies. That Ivic story is a lot more confrontational than when he originally told it, in the new version he has big cojones but at the time he just sulked and ran off to tell the head teacher that the bigger boy was being mean. The bloke is an idiot. As much as I'd love to believe the parts about Pozzo's incompetence, I can't just pick and choose - I'm disregarding everything he's said. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
No way Arsenal or Spurs we’re in for him just before he left us - he was on his last legs and offered very little by then
But the club have allowed themselves to be held to ransom by these players - they should have been stronger and told them to do one and go public with why !!
Troy chatting nonsense again, clearly a load of exaggerated crap. I do love Deeney but he does come across a bit thick.
I've never liked him and even his peak was only really four of the ten or so seasons he was here. Was an expensive millstone round our neck for the last few years. I remember him and Andre Gray ripping the piss out of Perica's FIFA stats in a video put out on the club's YouTube and saying how they were going to destroy the Championship as a partnership. In reality, they contributed the square root of **** all to promotion that season but cost us (conservatively) about £150k a week.
Man this is so depressing, he just seems dead inside. The old charisma and energy is long gone and now he just sounds insecure and unhappy. Sad to see.
First job for his PA or new PA. Staple a sign to his head with Mark Twain's* words " Better to stay silent and be considered a fool than to speak and have it confirmed". *Or was it Lincoln?
I've always had a lot of time and respect for Troy. Without him promotion would have been a lot more difficult to achieve and probably would have taken a lot longer to actually happen. He gave us one of the most talked about and watched moments in English footballing history and, most of the time anyway, stepped up when we needed him to. However, this podcast has really tarnished everything. The stuff he's come out and said about us is actually quite upsetting- it comes across like he doesn't give a toss about us. The threats to injure your own team mates just to get your own way is absurd, and incredibly unprofessional. The implication that he only stuck around because of the money and that he couldn't get the move he wanted. The ridiculous nonchalant attitude throughout the entire pod. I get it. He thinks he doesn't owe us anything as it was only his job. But if it wasn't for us giving him a second chance in 2012 (where lots wouldn't) then god knows what he would have ended up doing or where he would have played. Like another poster said previously- it's now rather obvious where a lot of our charlatan players got their attitude of 'the manager is the problem. Not us. So let's get rid of him' has come from. The player power running through our club has come from him. It's such a shame that I think this is him done with Watford. I like him but he's come across like a petulant little child.
Andrew French has written a long article relaying most if not all of the podcast and now Deeney’s on Twitter accusing it of being a ‘slow news week’, accusing him of selectively quoting bits and now responding to other Watford fans with the sound of reversing beepers going off.
Deeney is in the wrong, but sadly cannot see it. Too wrapped up in his own hard man image and being god’s gift to football. He’s bigger than Watford don’t you know, oh and the Queen is Scottish too!!
Bloke's a c*nt. Shame we didn't get rid of him far sooner. You still get nutters suggesting he was the one holding the club together though, hilariously.
Just when I thought the fans forum was the only drama to keep us entertained over the summer - you've got this spectacular PR blunder by a "club legend". Roll on Friday. I love this.
Team French all the way. It's actually quite distasteful for a multi millionaire to try and organise a Twitter pile on of a local journalist. And he's curiously silent about the Daily Mail story. Classy bloke, punching down like that.
Probably take over the whole forum now . Gino will love it not bring the most hated connected to Watford man now.
My respect for Deeney is being diminshed little by little right now. I don't agree with everything French writes but he's not wrong here. Very fact Deeney is coming out like this instead of letting it go over his head is another need for attention.
Christ, he’s digging himself a deeper hole. All he needs to do is apologise and move on.. Having watched the whole FilthyFellas podcast (god help me), its pretty damn clear that he was drinking more booze than he really ought to. The Hendricks clearly got to his head, as it’s apparent that all of the controversial comments he made were towards the end of the podcast lol.
Troy is getting roasted on Twitter by a lot of Watford fans. Not a surprise, but I very much doubt he will care - he speaks his mind and that's generally how things go.
He does mind though, that's why he's trying to weasel out of it and try to claim it's being taken out of context. If he didn't care at all, he wouldn't have said anything. Outside of his hangers on, Watford was probably the only place where he was put on a pedestal and he's realised that he's undermined that for the sake of playing the Big Man in front of a bunch of simpering arselickers.
Was it an empty threat or did he really mean it I wonder? Sounds more like the typical Deeney bluster when talking with mates and having a few drinks.
If it comes out of his mouth you take it as 50/50 usually. Do I personally think he said those things to Ivic and the board when Leicester wanted him? Yes, but then again it's Troy we are talking about here. We do know he was one of the big reasons Ivic left (don't think any of the players liked him) but we were not exactly in the relegation zone when he left. He talks the talk a lot more than he walks the walk.
Regardless what you think of that comment the interview shows him making a lot of threats and demands (generally saying he wants money to not leave) and actually threatening to take out another human being in Ivic. Probably been lost in the main headlines but that isn't a good look. Basically coming across as if he only really enjoyed the Dyche and Zola eras whilst the rest was just a job and not down to any great loyalty or love for the club.
The whole thing is just bravado, it's quite shocking to see a grown man talk like that. Every story he says is about how he's the big man in the room, threatening his team mates, opponents and managers. He's just trying to show off but it's quite telling how we have heard the same stories 20 times each with 20 different endings. He's a fantasist. The only bit that hurt was when he said he only stayed at watford for the money. That's truly ruined his legacy for me, I genuinely thought he was the only one that cared. He's the most unprofessional professional footballer out there.
This is it. I don't buy the injuring players thing. It's the complete disdain for the fans he showed, in talking about the club like he was doing us all a big favour by being here and that he was constantly upsetting the applecart to show how much pull he has.
Did I hear it right that he threatened to 'break Ivic in half'? Makes him sound like one of those Mortal Kombat characters from the arcades in the 1990's.
Not only snapping Ivic in half, but he said he would smash ginger Dyche, injure the entire Watford squad and beat up KSI. He’s been boxing since he was a kid and is one of the best in the business.
Standing on the edge of the box, waving his arms and complaining nobody is passing to him. Standard fare.
