Who cares though? We're already down. Why risk anyone with even the slightest niggle? The only annoying thing for me is we've not got any youth team players worth giving a few minutes too off the bench for such a meaningless game.
Not gonna talk about the game, it's a pointless exercise, but what's up with JP and Cucho? Knocks, or are we doing the ol' protecting our assets before selling them off?
If that was true then why are we playing Dennis and Sarr but not them? If anything seems like we're doing the opposite and protecting the players we want to keep next season in Cucho, JP and Louza.
We’re already down. Why not give Forde and Baah a run out at the very least? But no, can’t be having that. Keep playing the past-in 30-somethings who were arguably a yard short of PL quality at their peak.
Is it true that Hodgson was all smiles applauding the Palace fans at HT and when coming out for the second half? If so, what a disrespectful ****. I’d love to say I’m shocked but I’m not. Really hope we sack this **** tonight.
Every week our club hits new lows, finding new ways to humiliate us loyal paying fans, today it is our pantomime villian Wilfried Zaha scoring the goal that confirms our relegation. Tom Cleverly off, Ken Sema on sums up the state of our squad. Adam Masina, William Troost-Ekong, Craig Cathcart & Ken Sema all end the game on the pitch too. Finances is not the reason for that. Our star player Ismaila Sarr hit a new low of incompetence too, whereas Michael Olise showed all his star quality. £8.7 million, Sarr cost AT LEAST three times that. Let that sink in. Worst Pozzo appointment ever Roy Hodgson shuts up shop from the 70th minutes. He does not deserve to be in our dugout for the last three games, please just hurry up and get him gone the sight of his face is starting to make my blood boil. Just an utterly laughable, despicable, and bizarre way to approach today's game. Yes, we all know we're going down but to just accept it after Kamara's red card is totally gutless and one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen following my formerly wonderful football club. I don't recognise Watford anymore. Today and this season's complete lack of fight and professional pride is the new definition of "Watfordy". Even the commentator said "this is going down with a whimper, nowhere near good enough" just embarrassing all around, yet so predictable and so on-brand for us now. This summer is huge, it requires a mass overhaul of playing squad and non-playing staff but unfortunately, I have little faith in Gino Pozzo to do anything about it, he might stick a plaster over it and somehow assemble a squad good enough to challenge in The Championship but it will really only be a temporary measure such is the rot set in at our beautiful club.
Did he bring WTF on? Why? For the renowned coaching master stroke of the wooden spoon role? Bring on the small hen in its late forties for the remaining games.
We’ll if bringing on T-E, Sema and Masina as subs can’t save us a point, I’m not sure there is anything more Hodgson could have done.
Hands up who's looking forward to the estimable Mr Duxbury's apology in the next 24 hours? I for one will be lining up the two bags of gravel and a few flat rocks to hurl at my life size cardboard cut out of him. Second thoughts, let the cut out be CEO. In Sybil's words "he'll be cheaper and do a better job".
Even better at the final whistle. Clapping their fans, blowing kisses and big smiles all round. Absolutely magnificent shithousing from Roy. He loved it. I can’t be angry with such a brazen display of not giving one single phuck.
We genuinely aren't a football team at this point. Every player to a man who wasn't Sema (insanely) let themselves down today, if that's something that's even possible given the context. Did I expect anything different? No - and yet I was still shocked by how little of a shyt Roy gave about even attempting to have the team compete not to lose. What the fucck did we all just watch? One of the worst individual footballing performances ever, to rubber stamp one of the worst seasons. What a disgrace we are in just about every single way. Rip the entire thing up and start again. There isn't even any real tactical analysis to engage in for this afternoon's display - repulsive to behold. And perfectly emblematic of our club as a whole at this point.
A 25th defeat of the season. TWENTY-FIVE! Few neutrals will miss us. We’ve hardly contributed anything to the league this season. It’s been one sub standard performance after another, devoid of any quality or even soul or fight. You could put Pep or Klopp in charge, and they’d probably struggle to get a tune out of this awful squad of players. And when we still had just a flicker of hope back in January, what do our owners do? Waste another transfer window. Of our additions back then, one gets sent off today, one goes off injured, one makes a rare start and looks out of depth, and the other one had barely had a sniff since arriving. And then to top it all, we recruit quite simply the worst manager we’ve had since Harry Bassett undid all GT’s good work inside just a few months. To see him and RL full of smiles and hugs for their former colleagues at full-time left me sick to the stomach. If Pozzo wanted to do just one thing right this season, he’d kick him out now. Let’s play our final three fixtures without him at the club, so our fightback and planning for next season can start now.
I hope they all tread bare-foot on a stray piece of Lego. C**ts. Total re-build this summer with NO survivors!
Sometimes as a coach you have to have the integrity to say " This is beyond me,I can't do anything to influence matters in a positive way. I resign". If Roy has a shred of decency he will resign now,at his press conference and give his wages to a charity, Ukraine or whatever. This is not his mess but by the gods you have to at least act the part or **** off. Too late for the former but tell the truth Hodgson and shame the devil.
Well that was about as anti-climatic as you can get wasn't it? Burnley even lost to leave us still hanging by a 24 hour thread, didn't matter, we hardly turned up and put in another limp display of half-arsed football a team who feel and play just like the fans' do right now. Roy clapping and blowing kisses to the Palarse fans' just about sums up his devotion in an attempt (if you can call it that) in keeping us up. Penalty scored from guess who - the arch enemy of Harry the Hornet but Kamara did himself no favors waving his arms around like he was Deeney. Why VAR took so long to give it makes me feel better we won't have to deal with that at least next season. Hughes was very good today for them, and bossed our non-existent midfield all game. Did we create chances? Well, sort of, our best chance coming when King disposed their keeper than still managed to balloon the ball over the bar instead of scoring. Sum up his and our seasons. Match was delayed for about five minutes due to balloons on the pitch, which was odd - but it just meant we had to endure five minutes of extra torture at the end of each half. Sarr has been a a passenger for week now, and today was no exception. I totally forgot he was on the pitch really, he didn't touch the ball for 75% of the game, and to cap off another awful display he managed to pass the ball straight out of play. What really put the icing on the cake of our relegation was the subs. Sema and WTE. Not their fault they are still here or not good enough, but then taking our only real attacker off (Dennis) for a midfielder to shore us up is beyond a joke. Players' didn't seem to care one iota at FT. Ben probably got his Hughes shirt. So relegated officially now, now it's a case of who comes down with us. We still have a big say in Everton's fate on Wednesday night. But, do any of us really see us causing them any problems? They have the worst away record in the league against us, who have the worst home record. Something will have to give, and it won't be them. What a sorry state of a season. Players are not interested half the time, manager is far below what is required in motivation stance and the CEO and Owner continue to Gaslight the fans'. I am looking forward to next season in a way. At least we will be rid of some of these players at least. Championship is the best division in England anyway. Cheerio MotD.
