Urgh - do I have to?

Firstly Palace - I used to live next door to an Eagle, but not anymore so I have had to rely on a few pickings from various CP forums to gauge how they feel about us:
    • “Great to see the Watford thugs going down particularly if we can relegate them next week!”
    • “With the greatest respect to Roy - one word….RETIRE!! The bags under his eyes look awful, as do the turkey fat under his chins.”
    • “Since Deaney left I no longer hate Watford” (his spelling, not mine)
Can’t deny Palace have had a decent season - even managed a semi, still they have a vision, a plan, strategy and proper leadership at the top. If only. Still there’s always this which is one of my favourite games ever as I watched it very drunk in Dublin:

    ———

What about us, then? We go again. A couple of 7-0’s followed by a 6-0 and we might only need three clear goals at Chelsea, so get your flags out and lets go.

And we have other things to look forward to this week: more super-slow mo training-ground videos where Sarr will bury a beauty, Foster setting up his CyclingGK market stall at Croydon Shopping Centre to take on some Youtube chavs from Penge, Femenia picking up a knock and Woy’s ongoing Weekend at Bernies remake. Friend of mine ran a pub in Penge, said it was the scariest five days of his life, he lasted a week.

And to finish things off, relegation confirmed at the hands of Zaha, Benteke and of course Will Hughes who must be cackling at the lack of relegation clause in his contract as I type.

Obviously I hope Woy is ok, clearly not himself vs Burnley but let's hope he becomes the first to retire twice at Selhurst Park and before he expires completely. A good time to give the youngsters some game time: like all poultry Gosling could do with a run, Clevs surely deserves to show what he can do at this level and Kalu maybe a run around to celebrate his 50th next week.

Score? Dunno, 2-0 maybe. If I was Palace I’d just aim for the banana in the away end during pre-match warm ups.

Normally in this situation I’d say play some of the youngsters and give them a go, but if it was done as some kind of pretence of a change in direction I’d rather they didn’t.

It really doesn't matter who we put out does it? We had our best possible side out yesterday, played ok for 45mins then tailed off. We should start with Gosling, Cleverly, Sema, WTE and Masina. Have a good time and play with absolutely no expectations, because the Watford players' won't care when the final whistle blows and our relegation is finally confirmed. This season has been an absolute disaster from start to finish and we all know who is to blame.

Let's just get these final games done and we can binge watch the highlights of 98/99 and 13/14 seasons on youtube during the summer.

Selhurst Park will always be a special place for me - the one and only ground I've ever been thrown out of. Very embarrassingly this was only a couple of years ago. Still, seeing their old man get ejected gave my (grown up) lads and their mates a good laugh. I might go for a repeat performance on Saturday

    You love it really ;)

Shouldn't be too hard, just tell the players how all the fans' feel.

I'd like to see something different for this game. Unfortunately it doesn't matter what I think and we'll get the same eleven as yesterday.

    So said Il Duce Duxbury.

If you are reading this while you've put your feet up on the ottoman. Let me tell you something. You're a massive *****. Just feck off from our club. OUR club. Not yours or your chum Gino.

I've got a good feeling about this one, skipper Sissoko says they're going to give it their best and finish the season well. Remember everyone, we're in this together - which is easy to say when you have a break clause allowing you to leave this septic tank of a club in the summer.

Can’t wait to watch this rabble try their hardest to string 3 passes together, Sarr Pedro and Dennis waving there arms around and pointing fingers at each other. Sissoko run around like a headless chicken Kuco to smash that eagle out the sky and old Woy to receive his heroic welcome then sit there and scratch his head for 90+ mins thinking about what he’s spending his nice little Pozzo retirement fund on.

I bet Zaha cannot wait till next week - he'll love scoring and sending us down.

Probably even more so than Will Hughes.

    The comeback starts here.
Do we drop Sarr because he’s awful (and we might just break him and lose £25m) or do we continue to play him as our “best player” so his value doesn’t drop ?
    Play the kids.

Palace to officially relegate us. At least the Palace fans and Zaha will be delighted about that. We’re such a great club at making others feel good about themselves. It’s heart-warming really.

Sissoko really does talk a lot of meaningless drivel doesn’t he. Even if he means it, the rest of his team mates don’t see to take any notice.

I don't know why he's captain although admittedly we don't exactly have a lot of choices. I'd probably give it to one of the few players who turn up every game and give 100%, like Femenia.

Wouldn't even give him the usual reception as it will make it all the sweeter for him when he does relegate us.

foolishly going to this for two reasons: not been to Selhurst Park before and will be a few years before I'm watching WFC in the prem again.

The ground is bad no doubt and the area Selhurst Park's located in is a ********, but after exploring the rest of that part of SE London I was pleasantly surprised. Areas like Crystal Palace (not the club) including the park, the more northern parts of Norwood like Norwood Grove Recreation Ground and Biggin Hill (which has an amazing view of London from high up stretching as far as the North Downs on a clear day - a reminder of that part of London's relative proximity to Surrey and Kent), Streatham and Beckenham are all well worth a visit - even South Norwood Country Park near the football club seems to be worth checking out. Until recently I was under the impression that all of the SE postcode was bad, and while there are some grim spots (Woolwich, North Greenwich, Bermondsey, by all accounts Deptford) overall that's far from the case. Even Charlton which I thought was boring has some lovely parks.

And a hacksaw if you're behind one of numerous pillars in the Arthur Waite.

Oh and a pair of running shoes if there's a crush as there was last time.

    Not safe that ground.

Strange reaction to the form of another club, but each to their own I suppose.

  27. I think I'll try to watch the Burnley game to cheer them on rather than finding somewhere to watch this.

Shamefully I've got more enthusiasm to tune in to cheer them on and get Everton relegated than I have to watch my own lacklustre bunch of hopeless charlies turn out another dire performance and get easily beaten by the nigels.

Probably win this. We are a Premier League side away from home.

Just a pity that we are League Two at home.

Probably best now that we rest all of our potential summer sales for the duration. We need the money more than their bit-part "performances".

Provide opportunities to those that will be here, like Baah and Ngakia. Maybe even the missing man Bachmann.

I'm usually one of the least youth-drum bangers here, but this actually makes a lot of sense to me (apart from Bachmann).

I haven't watched the last two matches, because there was no point and I had better things to do, but by all accounts (and the vast majority of the rest of the season, particularly trend-wise) vast swathes of the senior players have done absolutely fucck all, so why not go all 'Mazzarri at City' and field significant numbers of the promising kidlets we'll never see again post-May?

We can send TVOR off in a flaming longship happy and content, at the very least, if Kwando gets his fated runout before the end of the season.

I'd actually prefer Bachmann back in goal over the laid back social media "let's all have a laugh" Foster. He will probably feel he has a chance of more games in the Championship, pending how good okoye' turns out.
