I think Rob has now done enough to convince he belongs at this level. I do think he deserves another chance. Put someone else in charge of close season training though.

Along with also making sure to put someone else in charge of picking the players in their correct positions, plus another person in charge of telling them to not spend half the match passing the ball along the back three.

But apart from all that, Rob can be in charge of most of whatever is left?!

We have moved on from player trading to manager trading. A tear in my eye watching them move on up to better things after we have paid them off. If you love someone, set them free.

Moving away from a back 3 seemed to have us playing better...although the reverse seemed to be true during the Brum game!

I feel like Wilder is in Hodgson territory. Season over so will see it out miserably, however u desperately want to see a 4th coach this season, just to confirm the absolute madness of the club's leadership beyond any microbe of doubt.

I’ve always thought Wilder was a bit of a pr*ck in the way he comes across.

He went up in my estimation for his honesty and candidness about the players at Luton, then right back down when he put his name to that stupid rallying call email the club put out.

Bin him in the summer and let’s see what woefully inexperienced/ill-fitting/uninspiring/overrated coach we get next time.

I think there is still time for a 4th and 5th.

It's hard to judge Wilder. But if you are to be fair, he has to be judged under the same terms as Bilic and Edwards. If those are the rules to judge him by, then he's clearly failing. But the problems are the players have pretty much downed tools since he's arrived. We can all see it. This is why most of them have to go. The players are mainly the issue as they've been around the hire-and-fire culture far too long.

He's had 6 games, two (QPR & Luton) have been the worst two performances of the season. Huddersfield was not a lot better. Two good first half showings against Birmingham and Coventry followed by a collapse in the second half. Wigan was a similar trend, where we played ok in the first half, but poorly in the second. So if you're looking for clues to give yourself confidence he's the guy to lead us next season, it's not easy to find.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if he's given a go, but I'm not sure Manga would see it that way. He must have his number one in mind, and I doubt that would be Wilder. However, Wilder was Manga's choice for this season, but he's probably a choice of convenience being a decent candidate who was available at the time, rather than anything long term. Had Wilder come in and got us playing well, then that's a different story, but he's not done that. The season is done now, but I still think he can advertise himself as a viable option if he gets a tune out of the team in the remaining games. If it continues along the same path as his previous 6 matches, then he has no chance of carrying on, IMO.

We were still in with a chance of the POs when he joined. If the players have downed tools "since he's arrived", then that speaks volumes. I think he was brought in as the Board were concerned that we might miss the POs if Bilic remained. Wilder has achieved that with 5 games still to go. I expect the Board regret replacing Bilic with Wilder, and regret replacing Edwards with Bilic. We've had 2 manager splats rather than 2 manager bounces.

Do we know for certain it was Manga's choice? Seems more like Gino googling "out of work managers who have been promoted from the Championship" and picking up the phone.

Manga basically said that Wilder was a desperate punt to try and shake things up as we’d not done anything to change the pattern during the January transfer window. He’s done nothing to change anything and it’s clear that Wilder is a busted flush at this level.

“I am in charge of the whole sporting area. In Germany, there is only the Sporting Director, whereas here in England things are a bit different. As Technical Director, I have to look not only at the team and signing players, but what’s happening behind the scenes like the medical area, strength & conditioning; everything from the Academy to the first-team that is related to football.”

Good luck to Manga. But the responsibility falls on him from the day the season ends as far as I’m concerned. And if he keeps Wilder, then all of his quote is just nonsense.

I still genuinely think he'll be gone by the end of this summer. I reckon he walks once whatever promises he was given to come here don't materialise.

You might be right. There's no way Gino the autocrat relinquishes any control. Manga will have seen in Jan that Gino still pushed through his own transfers and will continue to do so. Not sure about Giaretta's role either.

Whatever, Manga will know he's still got enough clout from his German work to get a new job at a less crackpot club where he won't be undermined.

If none of this has happened and Manga has actually been responsible for what we've seen this season, then he should **** off irregardless

I think it must be once the season has finished. Pointless sacking Wilder now, and brining in Farioli in the current climate. Best start the rebuild in the summer once the dust has settled a little on this season. He'll then have a chance of creating a positive atmosphere without the stench of this season associated with him.

This is leaking quite similar to how Edwards did. Once season is done with no chance of anything else and season tickets up for sale, name starts appearing. Hopefully we'll confirm and make official in the next couple of weeks if true, it would be a very good appointment if given time and the actual players needed to play his system. Also offers a little bit of hope to make the stadium less toxic over next few weeks.

Aren’t they just reading the same reports as we are that he will go at the end of the season to be replaced by this Italian bloke ?

Last week they said Steve Cooper was being sacked.

Mind you guess you never know with us!

Whilst it’s the usual basket case stuff, if it’s true, it’s not the worst decision they’ve ever made. Get Wilder gone, get the Italian Rob Edwards in early to look at the useless squad members we have. Work with Manga to determine who could work in his system, get rid of them all and start planning now for next season. It’d be decent planning.

    But LOL, as if.
