I've never been to Cardiff. I also have no plans to do so. I did once go to Tenby. It was a factory day trip, when I had a summer holiday job at the Ovaltine factory in Kings Langley. We had our own 'non-football special' train!!!. I was about 18 iirc. Absolute carnage, from start to finish.
If Martins is still absent, VI may as well try again to get the team drilled in the 532. None of the other wingers are guaranteed starters and this way Asprilla could play at #10 again (he was the best thing about us last Saturday). The only other system I can think of that allows a #10 is 4231 but we don’t have anyone capable of playing in the double-pivot.
I’ve only been once and there’s no way I’m going to risk tarnishing the memory of that fantastic game vs Leeds.
Come on Watford! These are depressing times both on and off the pitch, but with the games coming thick and fast here’s an immediate opportunity to right the wrongs of the last few performances. Give those of us who invest in supporting and following you a reason to feel prouder and more positive today, ahead of the two week break. These are difficult times to be a fan, but of course anybody can support a winning and successful team. No more excuses. Time to deliver. You’re better than this.
No it’s not. We should be at least two places higher in my opinion You focus on your opinions and contributions, I will focus on mine. Enjoy your Saturday.
Mentality wise, I agree with @Malteser2. Basic football ability, team ethic and concentration were all absent on Wednesfay night. Today we just need an improvement on those. We know we have a frail and thin squad, and the ability of all the players' combined is not a strong as it once was, but together they can become more than the sum of their parts. Work as a actual team again and defend from the front. Doesn't matter if we draw 0-0 or lose one nil, but the effort has to be better as well as the commitment.
Think 4-2-3-1 would be easy to accommodate for. Bachmann Nagkia - Porteous - Hoedt - Lewis Dele-Bashiru - Kayembe Asprilla - Louza - Chakvetadze Bayo Or Bachmann Ngakia - Porteous - Hoedt - Lewis Dele-Bashiru - Louza Ince - Asprilla - Chakvetadze Bayo
I felt exactly the same. Our club is sadly dying and we desperately need a new owner to give it a kiss of life. If I was VI, I would walk out now as he has an impossible job managing at this club. We've tried young upcoming managers, ex Watford managers, an ex England Manager, an ex Premier League manager and numerous nationalities and they have all been unable to have any success at this dysfunctional club. Oh, and we sacked a manager who subsequently got a utterly crap Championship side promoted.
Just landing in Cardiff, does anyone know of any good spots for away fans, preferably with the early kick off on?
He has just signed a new contract- why would he walk out and lose out on a payout? Maybe that line shows the arrogance and complacency at the club and with some fans ? They just think is a case of turning up with new manager and a set of players every then everything will just click rather than having to work hard and take time to let things develop.
I'm in the centre having a pint of Brains SA. Couldn't tell you where the fark I am precisely though. Loads of womens them all dressed in pink on a stag day/night milling about and some bloke shouting about Jesus on a microphone if that helps.
I am in Wyndham arcade it turns out. But now heading for some place called 'revolucion de cuba' to have a little Havana club and sneer at their lack of authenticity.
Pozzo out is the first stage, beyond that nothing matters. Need Elton and a few showbiz mates to form a consortium.
Would like to see a reaction today and at least a whole hearted 90 minutes, but we appear to be seeing a repeat of the last few seasons of not really getting one so not too hopeful.
Farkin' Paella? Sangria? Nachos? Dios mio! Didn't even accept Cuban pesos for payment. Que comemierdas. Although not on the menu, they did agree to a Havana club doble with ice and a sandwich cubano.
I find your analysis pre game way more interesting than anything all the players and the manager have to say between them. And to be honest that’s more of a compliment to you than a dig to them as I understand why they wouldn’t discuss these sorts of elements pre match. I do though find it bizarre you spot this stuff with some data and yet the recent game VI went 3-5-2 he obviously didn’t and admitted himself he got it badly wrong. Surely in this day and age the club must have data analysts?
Oh no, that midfield smells but I get the idea, solid, hard working midfield and get the ball out wide to our attacking catalyst’s and hope they produce. Liverpool 18/19 but super, super, super lite. Without the goal scoring wingers on both sides, or the creative forces at full back or the generational centre back and goalkeeper.. Feels like another attempt at a solution from Ismael. Hope it works for him, not convinced it will.
