The bread to meat ratio in a big mac is wrong. That is why the Quarterpounder is superior.

When ever I feel peckish a McDonalds always appeals to me, then after one bite I remember why I hate them so much.

    Absolute garbage.

Similarly, every now and then I will have an urge for a McDonalds but then once it is front of me it doesn't take long to be reminded it is crap. I was driving home from a meeting on Cornwall last week and was so hungry I would have eaten donkey s.hit. I stopped and McDonalds was all that was on offer and I still couldn't bring myself to finish it.

In Sweden, McD employees were being taxed for their daily complementary meal. They took it to court and won as the court agreed that a McD meal does not have the nutritional value to constitute a meal. And therefore, the Swedish employees do not pay tax for their free "meal".

I don't mind McD once in a while but I find my self hungry again after a very short time. It simply is very very poor food in a nutritional sense. Too much fat, too many low-value carbs and not enough fiber and protein.

Why no fast food chains offer a wholemeal bun, low-fat sauces etc is beyond me. It IS possible to make a burger with a good nutritional value using lean meat, good bread etc.

    These companies are only interested.

Low cost to produce , high profit margin , max sales.

An ideal way to make money. A good business model to follow.

Also I have heard that they have a very good management training for employees.

Still a product that people want to buy.

    But not for me.

I have a McDonalds probably once a year, usually pissed, and end regretting it straight away. Terrible stuff.

I don't like the sauce they use, the bun can be rubbery and the "meat" isn't great either. What's to like?

Cheap bread, beef 'patty', plastic cheese. What is there to like?

I think McDonalds is OK, nothing special, but good for a quick reasonably cheap meal, I've certainly had a lot worse!!!

If you look at the fat calorie content and ingredients of a McDondalds you'll see that its not that bad for you at all. Infact some salads with dressings are less healthy.

Where they are lacking is in the care or production in the kitchen, often due to the high turnover required.

Once in a while is fine and damn this thread has made me hungry.

Enough about your sexual preferences, high st. bakers normally do some decent pasties.

The only decent pasties are those that are actually made in Cornwall :eating:

With the exception of the "Gingster" monstrosities :sick1:, which are virtually made in Devon anyway, Launceston being very near the Cornwall/Devon boarder

Devon pasties are good if you get the ones made in bakeries rather than factories. When I lived in Devon there was a bakery in Bovey which did fantastic short crust numbers which were as filling as they were delicious. I miss them now!

my mrs is from Cornwall, and she makes lovely pasties. 100 x better than the gingsters range. Cornish people actually get quite offended if you talk about ginsters, as they are or were made in Devon.

I live in Cornwall and my wife is Cornish, and I can assure you that although the Cornish are not proud of it, they are definitely made at Launceston in Cornwall!!!

The best burgers are the ones you make yourselves, as for pastie it has to be an original one from Cornwall. Wasn't it what the tin miners used to be given by there wives for lunch, so they a proper meal. ?
