I purchased what I thought was going to be a green, tie-on replacement trampoline cover and it turned out to be black and elasticated. The colour isn't a problem and neither is the elastic so long as there is someone else around to help but I need to be able to put the cover on by myself.

So far I've got more exercise running around pulling the cover down only for it to ping off the other side than actually using the trampoline.

The trampoline is 14feet in diameter. 1000'orns to anyone who can come up with a workable method of putting the elasticated cover on alone.

    Thanks

Put it over one side, put something heavy on it to keep it down, go around the other side and pull it over, something heavy on there, do the remaining sides, done.

Or get a couple of large clips (I assume there's some form of metal bar around the edge underneath padding?)

Or, make some holes around the edge, eyelet them and get some heavy duty chord with a clip to hook onto the underneath. bit more DIY that one.

If I could find a bloke with arms 6ft long he might succeed but I think Mr Tickle is fictional.

Your ideas sound very sensible, thank you and I will try out the first one, although I don't think it will work, but not right now because it is raining.

I can't make holes in the edge or it will just tear but I like the idea of the metal clips and am wondering what I might use. Will have a browse in the shed and garage tomorrow but will need several.

When I thought of it I thought of jump lead style clips, you know the large electrical ones? Or perhaps table fabric ones, my mum makes dresses and curtains and has some to clip fabric onto her work table, they're quite large.

    Turn the trampoline upside down.

I bought a trampoline for the little one , thinking i would have a sneaky go on it , turns out the weight limit is 75kg ,bit of a shyte , never been no one before

Alan , the only choice you have is to knock on the neighbours and ask for some help

The problem is that when you attempt to pull the far side of the trampoline cover over the trampoline, you are being too rough. This is making the far side come loose. Try again being far more gentle.

I like this idea very much. It is simple and elegant. However I don't think you realise what 14ft looks like and what a 14ft trampoline weighs. I struggle to drag it over a bit when I'm cutting the grass

I have to pull a lot to make it reach the far side and then it pings off. But I will try to be more gentle next time and see what happens.

Next sign of a hot day lay the trampoline cover flat on the grass, spread it a wide as you can and peg into place.

At the end of the day the material should have a bit of give in it due to expansion by the heat of the sun, then try it.

If it fails fry an egg.

Link an appropriate amount of bungees together and attach them to either end of the cover UNDERNEATH the trampoline base (through the legs). You can then manoeuvre the cover generally into place (but with the bungees meaning it's not yet tight) and pull both ends of the cover (via the bungees) at the same time until they are hopefully in place. You can remove the bungees as you go along.

Hope that makes sense. And works...

Attach one side, and use some sticky tape, or some other sort of clip. Then drag round the other side secure, and do the same on the 4 sides.

Maybe a Peg for the washing line might do the trick if its not too thick.

Thank you for repeating my idea.

Also, a clothes peg?! You serious?! That'd snap or just fly off straight away

Problem with Jump lead clips, is that they are metal, and might tear the material, thus rendering the cover ineffective.

Do you have any of those clips for keeping a table cloth on the tables? That might work.

    Even some masking tap perhaps.

You could also replace the elastic with a length of cord.

You need two ropes with hooks or clips on.

Attach the far end of the cover onto the trampoline.
Affix the hooks 3 or 4 feet apart on the edge of the trampoline that is now covered.
Pass the other end of the ropes underneath to the opposite side and keep these taught whilst securing the rest of the cover.

Or don't bother until it get's too cold to use. Ours is uncovered all year and just needs a bit of a clean every spring.

I'm really sorry but I can't stop chuckling at the thought of it pinging off as you reach the opposite side!

Instead of going all the way round, have you tried putting a bit on each side, ie North, South, East, West then filling in the gaps?

Either that or can you put a clip up of it pinging off as you put it on please, it may help us get a better idea of how to work it.

Put the effort on Youtube, speed the film up and use the Benny Hill theme in the background.
