No cotton wool in the death arena please. Let’s cover him in chainmail, spikes or Ed Hardy gear to terrify the opposition.
I don’t think we should get too carried about what Kiko and Saar did against championship opposition. Saar for one didn’t turn up on the previous three games.
This is probably going to be one of those games where we are favourites for the win but fail to do so because we don't turn up. Watford 0-2 Newcastle. Deeney OG. Saint- Maximin.
Just seen some stats that Newcastle's defense is pretty much on par with the Norwich defense in terms of giving up chances, etc. Could be another maSarrclass on show.
Apparently, we've won more Premier League points against Newcastle than any other side. So we should win this. Watford 0 Newcastle 3
Oh, we bow to the great Mystical Lawro... He predicts a 1-1 draw (same as last weekend then), you know what they say... "if it ain't broke..."
Second game of the season for me. I can feel a tingle in my taint as I anticipate running the gauntlet of cancelled trains as I travel hither and yon up from the West Country. Only being able to fully relax as I march up the High Street and enter the salubrious surroundings of Boselys, where one shall drink a bottle of average tasting, YET, dirt cheap Red Wine. Watford 5 (Five) - Newcastle 1
Foster Kiko WTE Sierralta Rose Kucka Sissoko Sarr Cleverley Dennis King Elliot, Ngakia, Masina, Cathcart, Tufan, Etebo, Cucho, Fletch, JP. 'Orns. Although I think we'll need someone in midfield who can move the ball quicker like Tufan, but I expect he'll start on the bench.
That's a quality description of someone's non-local journey to the Vic. I could put one up of away games I've been to, but the last of those were in 2014, which ended in watching from a Wheelchair and coming to the conclusion it was waaaay too much hastle to be placed at ground level, freezing my **** off, plus there's the travel expenses. I miss the atmosphere though.
Lascelles, Willock and Wilson all out for Newcastle this weekend: https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/magpies-duo-set-to-miss-watford-trip/ Dúbravka might be back in goal for them though.
That's 3 of their best 4 players out injured. I knew about Wilson, but Lascelles and Willock were "doubts". Come on you 'Orns! Hopefully Saint Maximin will bump his knee on the bus or something.
I was nervous against Norwich because it was very much a must/should win, so the thought of not winning wasn’t very pleasant. I was more relaxed about Newcastle as even though they’re shyte they’re an actual PL team not a championship one. Now they have all these players out I’m feeling the same as Norwich, as we really should be winning and failing to do so will be a massive missed opportunity. We won’t get many better opportunities for three points.
The October & November fixture list is tough to say the least, so we need to get as many points from the next two games as possible. 9-10 points on the board will give us a nice buffer.
The only thing concerning me is if Newcastle play three at the back. Yes they're crap but we've lost every time we've come up against 352/343 this season as Xisco doesn't seem to know how to deal with the extra centre back and wing backs.
They also sit back, they did a lot against Leeds even at home. I’m not sure how that actually plays to our strengths as some are suggesting.
It's going to be a real struggle to break them down, especially with our midfield which isn't the most creative. An early goal would be huge.
As others have alluded to knowing that 3 of their 4 best players are out, we should win this, we’re even favourites on many betting sites! What’s worrying me is their 3/5 at the back system will allow them to double up on Sarr and Dennis when attacking, something we haven’t really learned to deal with so far.
Nice little blurb on FPL's "The Scout" about Sarr: I wasn't aware his shots on target was comparatively high for the season.
