Poor ####### I just realized that he not only has to play for Silva, but with Knockaert.

Looks like Marco Silva figured out that Domingos Quina isn't actually any good a lot quicker than most of our fans. Not seen any minutes in the league since mid September. Baffling to give him a contract extension, he'll be stinking out the place at 25 years old, alternating between underwhelming loan spells and pre season interviews where he says this is finally going to be his season.

Fingers crossed they go up and trigger an obligation to buy (if one exists).

Get this baller back, could do with him in the midfield.

He still signed him in the first place though, so not exactly a genius himself.

A very low-risk move for them though, a loan with an option for a relatively cheap permanent deal, and they have another option in the squad who could prove useful from time to time. Rotting on the bench in 2019-20 seems to have ruined him, he'd only had a handful of games before that, and with only a handful of games in that season, he was nowhere near ready to play regular football for a promotion chasing Championship club (let alone a Spanish Europa League team!). He probably won't play much at all this season, he'll probably waste another year of his development, but Marco Silva has no reason to be that bothered, just like neither Ivic nor Xisco had any reason to be bothered about James Garner's development

I don't know if he'd have developed enough to be a viable option as a regular first teamer for us in the Prem (rather than a squad option), but it's such a shame he picked up that injury last season, so glad to see his experiences of the Madejski are happier this season! Really hope we actually get to see him in a Watford shirt again next season!

Barcelona apparently wanted him a couple of seasons ago. At least that's what his agent told everyone.

We should probably recall him and get him a new loan in January. I don't think he's going to make it here but we extended his deal so should probably try and bump up his value for when we sell him. At the moment we'll be lucky to get 500k for him.

He's crap, who's going to want him? Thought he'd be better suited to Spanish football but then after a bright start with Granada, they also realised he was crap. Maybe a loan to Spanish second tier or a small team in Portuguese top flight might be an option? He can't handle the Championship and would get eaten alive in League 1.

I assume Fulham are covering his wages though, in which case there’s zero point bringing him back unless a new loan can be sorted elsewhere on the same terms.

Seems like the problem is his attitude - Silva called Quina out on that quite early on.

Can anyone remember if Fulham have to buy him if they get promoted or whether it's an option?

I assumed these latest posts were connected to the fact that Fulham were playing at the same time, but I notice he wasn't even on the bench at Deepdale. Anyone know why?

    Hasn't been involved for weeks/months I don't think.

Silva said a while back Quina needed to improve his attitude.

    Chalobah too I presume.

    Just an option.

He looked genuinely good when he first came into the side, and that was at Premier League level.

Amazing when players actually regress from when they were about 19, when they should be coming into their prime.

The guy desperately needs to play some football, he's 22 and has only made 32 senior starts. He needs a full season somewhere, it might be best to sell him and let him kick-start his career somewhere new. I think the talent is there but not the application, going on loan to a Championship side and then being banished to the U23s isn't a great look for him.

Admittedly he's also to blame through his lack of application, but seeing as he struggled to break into our team last season, it does seem very odd that we loaned him to a team at a very similar level, were there no teams a bit further down the table or abroad who could have taken him on and guaranteed him gametime?

Maybe he simply doesn't have it in him mentally to get to the top as a footballer, but having spent the last 3 seasons sat on the benches of Watford, Granada and now Fulham, we haven't helped his development one bit

What’s the problem with this? He’s someone that would genuinely get a fee so I have no problem with them protecting their asset on this one.

It’s the extensions for players that are 30yo+ or won’t fetch any kind of few that are the issue.

Some people peak at a very young age.
Michael Chang never improved after winning Roland Garros at 17.
Rod Thomas was sensational at 16 but played a handful of games for us and went down the pyramid and finished at Carlisle I think?

Plus I don't suspect he's on exorbitant wages, while we'll struggle to get rid of him if he carries on this form, it's not going to be an expensive mistake (the mistake is in not giving him suitable loans over the last 3 seasons)
