A civil conversation with someone with significantly different political views. I am assuming that you guys don't realise you are making Farage appear to be a reasonable person, even shutting others up when they were critical of Nev's comments. I don't watch any mainstream TV anymore, but what you posted here makes me think that perhaps there are some decent conversations being had out there. I don't believe for a moment, though, you would get a conversation like that on the beeb, ITV or C4. Maybe there is a better representation in stations like GBN and LBC? Nev said everything he wanted to say, and Farage made sure he got the chance. Not a fan of the guy, but I am not going to criticise him for that. If I didn't know better, I'd have assumed that anyone posting that video was doing so as an argument to demonstrate free and fair speech. But instead you are trying to make Farage out to be the nazi (see thread title); pretty much as you do with anyone who disagrees with you. Like me. So silly, both this guy AND Hitchens. Arguing whether extremist nazis are right or left wing. They are just extremists, and extremists of both wings are as disgusting, repulsive and murderous as each other. You couldn't put a fag paper between communists and nazis, barring the many times greater body count of the side that most people consider to be 'of the left'. Both sides become fascists, in the murderous, dictatorial sense, as they move further away from moderation. Hitchens argument is stupid, and this guy's response is no better. Were the nazis left wing? Who gives a damn. Did they share characteristics with left wing extremists? Yes. Your man accepts it in the thread you linked to. Is that relevant in any way? No. Are nazis the same thing as the communist regimes that murdered millions, including Jews and other ethnic groups over the last century? Yes. They are exactly the same, only the excuses and language they use is very slightly different. Left or right Wing has little meaning once you have stepped over the line of fascism. Which ideology you use to 'justify' it is neither here nor there, because it is only an excuse to exercise whatever bigotry it is that motivates you. They are all exactly the same.
