His obsession with being the big man is really bizarre, I watched his insta video of his hatrick last week for FGR and even then he had to include a couple of clips of him upending someone on the halfway line. Completely pointless behaviour.

Still triggering our fanbase after all these years. What a legend. I saw a guy on social media calling him names but I discovered that the same guy retweets GBNews lol.

Pretty sure he’s not uniquely triggering our fanbase, I think upon any football fan hearing Deeney suggest he’s as good as or better than Harry Kane would think something along the lines of “what a deluded prat”.

There’s literally a community note on the ESPN tweet that says:

‘This quote is incomplete and missing context. On the podcast, Troy Deeney did compare himself to Harry Kane, but began by saying: “Is Harry Kane a better footballer than Troy Deeney? ******* absolutely.”’

That’s fine, there is more than enough delusion on the rest of the podcast with enough context, see above for examples. The bloke is clearly a prat, despite being a club legend (the two don’t have to be mutually exclusive) I’m pretty sure it’s only 16 year old fanboy podders that might try and suggest otherwise.

I can hold the ball in the corner from the 85th minute better than Troy. There. I said it.

There's only one thing Troy can possibly do better than Kane at, and that's **** a ball from 12 yards

I always considered heading to be one of Deeney’s weak points. Very good at defensive headers at set pieces, but correspondingly poor as far as attacking headers were concerned.

I can write about Victorian music history better than Troy. Watch out for my podcast.

I can run and manage a successful paper merchants better than Troy, probably what spurred him on.
