I thought they just favoured bowlers over the 'batty' ones.

Troys done himself no favours with this one, alienated fans who loved him and not going to help get a job on broadcasting, coaching or mamagement.

We all think the players have not been bothered can see why now.

Imagine if we'd sacked the fat c**t in 2012!!

Would've been the next Ched Evans plying his trade in League One.

Incredible that he's got the audacity to treat the club in such a way and just shows how pathetic and weak Pozzo and Duxbury are! Should've taken the £30m and laughed all the way to the bank.

We did the same with Ighalo from memory? Turned down £35m from Man Utd for him to only leave 6 months later for half of that!

Abolutely! But my point was not about Dyche's ability to look after himself, but Troy's lack of awareness relating to his comments about bullying a child of difference.

He'll be fine on the podcast circuit, don't think he'll get any serious punditry gigs

I was hoping he'd left the club before he embarrassed himself any more on the pitch and started to REALLY tarnish his legacy here.

But it looks like he's managed to do that 2 years after he left.

I know it's subjective anyway, but I really don't think he can be classed as a legend after this. Clearly, a dreadful influence at the club after that contract extension in 2016 and the fact he's backtracked on his remorse regarding the assault in 2012 just shows what kind of man he really is.

    So so depressing.

If there's anyone that owes his entire livelihood to WFC, it's Troy - not the other way around. What a dumb thing to do.

Yeh , this is disappointing . I always thought he has come across well in interviews /fan interactions and his book . However some of the stuff on here like threatening to injure players , bleeding the club for all he can get and only really being interested in the money after a certain point has tarnished his legacy .

He does somewhat contradict himself though on claiming he didn’t want to be paid for the last few months of the relegation season and playing with a hole in his knee , which doesn’t suggest he was only there for the money .

So as people have said, not sure how much of this is bravado . In any case it’s not very clever as he’ll have turned off a load of people like me who were previously big fans of his .

Ched Evans currently plays for Preston, who finished 12th in the Championship this season - ahead of Troy's Brum.

I was really making a caustic comment about Deeney claiming he and his mates at school would have forced Dyche to do their homework….

I dunno, the tabloid nature of most popular punditry means he's probably a good fit.

Thing is I doubt Troy will be that bothered if fans and others don’t now like him or it’s tarnished any legacy .

He’ll just do and say what he wants and feels like to get enough attention in the media.

Bit like Ben Foster I guess .

I think there has to be a veneer of respectability in 'mainstream' media (minus TalkSport perhaps), sure, there are a hell of a lot of gob*****s who say stuff to get a reaction, but I think there's a difference between the likes of Soccer Saturday and what Deeney has said

Yeah but he obviously has a different speed for such gigs. Do you think that him being a louty lad with these podders would stop him getting the gig to talk straight with Chris Sutton or whatever?

A deceased friend of mine `scouted Troy` for Walsall. Always remember when I watched his first appearance for us in the away game at Aldershot with him, he said `the boy has raw talent but has character faults` how true that proved to be.

Management have been incredibly inept at pandering to his every want - it is now clear why player power has spread like a virus throughout the team for years, and we have ended up with a group of mercenaries who don`t give a jot about the fans or club .

If it is correct that we are talking with him about future involvement it is akin to madness.

I could not agree more. As much as he was a fans favourite the club should have got rid of him and been much stronger for it. The fans would have hated it at the time but an explanation at fans forums would have got the message out when the money was in the bank.

I cannot believe they are even contemplating letting him back in the building after that video

Didn't he join someone sh*t like Chesterfield or Oldham in League one or two when he came out of prison?

To be fair we still had a regular fans forum after that, i attended one shortly after Gracia was appointed.

Agree with others, no way Deeney can be allowed back after that video. Probably all bravado but has ruined any credibility he'd have as a coach (if thats the role he was due to have) and the fan base won't allow things to slide when he turns up fat and overweight (if he was a bit part player). Move on.

Obviously impossible to say for sure. But even if he didn't, it seems very likely he was at least considering it or his brain wouldn't have gone there in the heat of the moment. It's a strange detail to make up when the story then pivots to clearing out the proverbial desk and playing hardball with the agent.

We know Carl ****inson made that same threat so completely credible that Deeney would have remember that it worked and wanted to use it. And lets face it, he's got a bit of a violent track record both on and off the pitch (not to mention a previous record of forcing a transfer when at Walsall, on his way to us).

It'd be absolutely on-brand for him.

These snippets below are appalling. I don't ever want him back at the club in a coaching capacity.

"'I'll come back fat as f***','and I will injure every player until you sell me. I promise you I will injure every player'."

"I go back to my car, and three minutes later my phone's ringing. They [Watford] are saying name your price, you can get it. And I was like, well let's play then."

At this point I was driving a Lamborghini Aventador, every time I came [to training] this speed bump was p****** me off.

"So I said can you take speed bump out please? You lot thought it was about the money, but I was already getting the money."

He added that he called for more space for his friends and family in the stands, got an extra private box and a bottle of champagne ready there for each fixture.
