Wow, that was quite awful in a way that was completely different from the utterly pathetic effort last Saturday. Make no mistake, Udders were there for the taking as they couldn't live with us when we tried some quick passing moves first half. We have the individuals but at the first sign of some pressure on us we just crumble collectively. We gifted 3 goals without much resistance and when we forget there's a match to win we just act silly in trying to repair the damage, step forward Dan B.

I don't put today's match wholly on Wilder - except the abject choices on the bench and the baffling tactical set ups - but the sheer mentality of our lot really contributed too, they just lose their heads when things go against them. 3 of ours including Capt Pedro arguing with the ref over a free kick, then 11 spectators in yellow in our box allowing an easy finish to a long free kick for the crucial second Udders goal. There were ample examples in the team but I thought Louza was a prime one today, shuffling around little flicks to no-one and flouncing Bruno style. Even "no-nonsense" Porteous throwing himself down for a free kick, then inviting a second booking for that late free kick blasted into an opponent's shin was brainless. Dan showed him how to pull that trick off. Cathcart heading rapidly for the retirement exit Kaba-style. Kone can't pass, can't anticipate, can't do it yet. Hoedt mind not on the game he was elsewhere today. Asprilla showed promise. Chowdhury's bull in a china shop act was occassionally useful but do we do tactics in training. I thought Edwards was iffy on that but Bilic (by the end) and Wilder have lowered the bar.

This is a very, very low point a bit like our 0-2 defeat to Udders in 2020, 1-4 to them in 2017 and 1-4 in 2014. Hmm, at least some consistency I suppose!

I’m not sure what annoys me most..

watching players in a yellow shirt who truly can’t pass or play at any kind of tempo

watching the idiot police taking out a fan for unfurling a Pozzo out sign

swearing very loudly at the few idiots in the LR who clapped that shower of ***** off. As I was with my, albeit 20 something, daughter

or hating going to games but still too weak willed not to renew

I hate this bunch of players, I hate the owner and Duxbury, I hate Wilder by association. This club is rotten from top to bottom. Today was awful but it's the same every season. Once the team decide there is nothing to play for they just stop trying. We were an absolute mess, all three goals were the result of defensive incompetence. Our play was mainly sideways and slow again, we are so easy to play against it's unbelievable. Ten years of the Pozzo's and we are back to midtable championship but with a more debt and less spirit.

Mathematically, we are not safe from relegation either. Lost our last six games (highly possible) and it can still happen, as unlikely as that is.

We're 6 points off the play offs. That's 12-18 points thrown away against bang average/awful teams. Do those teams have more talented players than us? No. Do they have a more accomplished leader in the dugout? Arguably not. We produce these results because we have a squad of shirkers, and mentally weak individuals.

Wilder is right, a cultural reset is needed. I've said it before, but the players need to be aware that a manager will be here longer than a few minutes, and they won't be able to get rid of him by throwing in a couple of awful performances.

We have the makings of the kind of team we all want to see at this level. Young, talented players. But it doesn't work when not built in to a solid structure, to allow these types of players to strive.

Build the team around the likes of Asprilla, Porteuous, Louza, Ferreira, Sierralta, TDB, Kone, JP (ha!), Martins. But add some players with some actual bo11ocks, who won't stand for the lack of effort we've seen this season. Backed up by a manager who has actual authority and respect within the club, and we might stop the rot. But I fear we're in a vicious downwards spiral.

The worry is that team will probably be what we see next season minus Pedro and Louza - wasn't for the want of trying I thought but we totally lacked any ideas once Huddersfield scored and had no confidence or know how to get back into the game.

BTW No chance Louza, Martins and Pedro are here next season.

Anyone makes a bid for an Asprilla or Porteous and it might be accepted if we truly are in that much of a mess.

Seen nothing from most of those players to suggest they should be playing regularly for a Championship team wanting to trouble the play offs.

Yep, they all look mostly **** as well.

Asprilla weak as piss and bullied out of most games, Porteous looks bang average, Ferreira the same, Pedro will be gone, Louza is alright, Sierralta was good but is now perma-injured.

We've got no hope in the next couple of seasons. We need more than a major rebuild, and if it's under Pozzo's ownership that rebuild almost certainly won't take us anywhere but lower.

Do you think those players will look better, or worse, in a more stable environment, alongside fewer weak-minded teammates?

I'm not saying this is you, but I do find it a shame that fans are so dismissive of young players, imo, just because they're not academy graduates.

    Ferreira has just turned 22.
    Porteuous just turned 24.
    Louza 23.
    TDB 23.
    Kone 20.
    Martins 19.

They will make mistakes. They will have poor games, and do petulant, immature things. If we want to move away from the Pozzo short-termism mindset, we need to allow young players to learn and develop here, and support them.

Even with their six-point deduction, they are more together of a side than us. I would not bet against Reading finishing above us. It's highly unlikely that we will go down I know that, but lose on Monday and then it becomes that tiny bit more realistic.

I think fans have short memories. Those asking for Pozzo out and booing the players need to look around and see the stadium vs b4 pozzos.

Booing the players is wrong and of it were not for the Pozzos we would not have had 5 years in the prem.

Not sure what was worse the platers or the fans today.

The bunch on the left of the Rookery(so called core fans) are an absolute disgrace. Booing, singing Pozzi out and not getting behind the team

No wonder the players struggle with no support

We have 55 points. The highest total any relegated side has got in the last 9 seasons in 51. Even if we lose every game 8-0, and as funny as it would genuinely be, we're not going down.

All very true but some of those players won't be here next season unless someone suddenly wants to keep Martins (he is on loan I think?) and play him.

Not saying we will win many more games but they would have to go some being 15 points behind with 8 games to go.

I know it's not me as I'm equally dismissive of academy graduates!

Porteous - fine, don't think he's as good as people make out but he'll be a decent enough Championship centre back I think.
Ferreira - looks too nice for the Championship
Louza - clearly a good footballer, completely unable to impose himself in this league, will do well at Udinese
TDB - will probably have an ok L1/L2 career
Koné - very disappointing so far. Get that he's not been a pro for very long and is young but don't see much of a player there
Martins - we won't loan him again

Bit disappointing. Decent starts for both Bancroft and Kohler-Cadmore but neither really kicked on. Still, likely to be a competitive total overall.

Largely agree with your assessments here, tbf. Ferreira especially. If we were a dominant, free-flowing side he'd probably look mustard, but he doesn't like it when it gets tough.

Louza I think as we saw briefly against Stoke, will standout when he has willing runners, and players willing to receive the ball. He's not a Guedioura who will take the game by the scruff of the neck on his own.

TDB will depend on how he recovers. One more big injury and he's done, imo.

Kone I think has the raw attributes to develop into a very decent player. Good runner, can play a pass. Decision making is often poor, but like I say, to be expected from a 20 year old.

Martins is a good example of what I mean. A really raw player, but capable of making at impact at Championship level, as a teenager. That's rare. But because he's not from St Albans, or as polished as Deulofeu/Pereira, he's dismissed as crap (not by you). I hope he's given another chance here next season, but agree it's unlikely he'll return.

When we go shopping for a new team this summer can we place more emphasis on a player's character than his football ability? You don't have to be technically brilliant to be a success in the Championship but if you're a feeble minded **** you'll get nowhere.

Changing gears, with both my lads vowing to never watch Watford again on the way back from Kenilworth Road last week I had two spare seats today so I took my young nephew. He absolutely loved it and has already put in a request for a season ticket.

We've just got too many of the wrong type of player.

Pedro is ******* gash at times. Mooney described him and asprilla as "able to light up even the dourest of championship games". Just as Asprilla got outmuscled and Pedro got a yellow card for a dumb foul after being out paced. they scored from that free kick - which Pedro got out jumped for a free header. He was captain.

    Sarr can F**K OFF. he's s**t.

    Hoedt is a donkey.

Only Porteus looks like he gives a ****.

    Oh and Choudhury is abysmal.
