With such a short time frame from one game to the next over the festive period and a small chance to get rid of the after taste of yesterday's performance - we travel back to Wales for the second time in a month to take on the white side of the Welsh in Swansea City. Having just about beaten their local rivals Cardiff 2-1 on a rain soaked evening, Watford will be looking for the same sort of result this time around. We have no Pedro - as he was in a leg brace and expected to be out for a few weeks/months/years (who knows with our medical team). Kamara is obviously suspended for acting like a child and we can just add him to the list of non-playable team members who's list is getting as long as Occupation Road at this point. Swansea are one of the sides right with us in the hunt for a top six finish as things stand, and we all remember the reverse fixture of 17 added minutes of injury time where we managed to concede the winning goal and not make any movement to try to level the scores. We actually had a better squad out then than we do right now, and it's pretty scary when you look at the lineup before a game now. As we continue to have no midfield, no bottle and no spine at the moment I cannot see past another loss. Swansea will be well up for doing us over again and considering we still have to get through this and Norwich before any of our new boys can start filling in gaps left by injuries - these next two games could get quite messy. I don't mind losing if we try in games and are beaten by a better side on the day, and once again Millwall showed how the players feel about the current predicament and what it will take to get out of it. Not a lot. Formation? God knows, at this point we are just throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks. Good luck to any brave hornets travelling up, safe journey back. Swansea 3 Watford 0
We’re now sitting ducks until the transfer window opens. The best result we can hope for is a blizzard over Wales and this game gets called off. Same at Norwich too.
Bachmann Ngakia Kabasele Cathcart Sema Bacuna TDB Kalu Asprilla Sarr Davis Hamer, Gaspar, Morris, Sierralta, WTE, Pollock, Bayo. Swansea 3 - 0 Watford The Swansea midfield will have an easier game than they had at Vicarage Road a couple of months ago. 'Orns!
Not Bilic’s fault he hasn’t got any players. Nor is it the owners fault or the recruitment. The only group to blame here is the fans, who have been so spoilt by our success. Such as the most home defeats in a row in the history of football from last season.
I felt sorry for us yesterday. Just an air of optimism in the ground, which was immediately dashed by the shocking performance. Even when Millwall were peppering our goal with shots, the fans didn't turn. They weren't even that iry when we went one goal down. Genuinely don't believe any set of fans deserve the absolute lack of basics that our team and club delivers. But then we are the 24th best club in the world or something
If Swansea put in a bit of graft they'll get a comfortable win. Our only hope is our few better players put in a strong performance and carry the rest of the bottling ba5tards through, but they're all injured, so no chance. Swansea 3-0 Watford
With JP likely out and no LB I wouldn't be surprised if we matched up Swansea and went 3 at the back, possibly with Kalu ahead of Ngakia at RWB. Then Davis and Sarr as a front 2. I'm not sure there'll have been enough time between this game and our last one so our players could still have some remaining grogginess. It's unlikely to be a sparkling contest.
January ain't solving our problems - more utter dross for positions we don't need, so Pozzo and Bogey can fill their pockets. Allegedly. 2-0
We are screwed until the transfer window opens tbh. The injuries really highlight how horrendous our squad really is thanks to the incompetence of our owners. Swansea are not good, we may be able to keep it tight and knick something but the transfer window can't come quick enough
Much like the rest of us they seem to be very inconsistent. Swansea like to play out from the back and keep the ball so it will be up to our front players to put pressure on them . Poor Asprilla might have to try that alone as sure as hell Sarr/Davis won’t bother making such an effort as they walk around throwing arms around .
Back in the day I decided it wasn't worth the effort to track down a stream to watch the match, with this team I'm not going to be able to summon up the effort to press the red button. Meisters's prediciton? couldn't give a flying ****.
Just when you think the performances couldn't get any worse from this "team" they do. It's actually quite impressive.
