Agreed. Can't fault the boss either. He noticed the game was getting stretched so tried utilising Cathcart's pace and chucked Tom 'Zinedine' Cleverly on to pick a pass. So unlucky.
Like the last PL season when we got about 2 points from Bournemouth Brighton West Ham (when they were poor ) Sheff U Southampton Burnley
I'm assuming Kiko picked up his 28th knock of the season. Either way it was a smart move by Hodgson to bring on Cathcart and protect the point, worked beautifully.
Didn’t even need to be touched, at one point (second half ?) , we broke, he was nowhere near anybody, ran 10-15 yards and tripped over the ball
I recently watched the last 5 minutes of another re-run of the famous Leicester p/o semi and it really hits home how decent that bunch were and how "spirited" they were compared to our recent squads. I'm sick of hearing "how everyone is working hard in training blah blah" when they can't bring it onto the pitch.! That old team had its faults but "that" last minute pen save and the Deeney goal was brilliant from start to finish and puts this bunch to shame. Deeney (of then), Vydra, Abdi, Almunia +others..... Where are our current versions.? The difference is HUGE, not in pure class but in effort, concentration, and team spirit. The current team to me just come out each week and play their training game.! Far too much trying flashy stuff as individuals and not enough graft as a team. Honestly right now I'd go for Zola back along with a decent British coach to support him. I want that Buzz back again....
schoolboy shambles both ends of the pitch only ever going to be one outcome Embarrassing doesn't come close
A lightning in a bottle season and squad that is highly unlikely to ever be replicated again. Because Udinese were hovering around the CL back then, they had talented players sitting around. They all wanted to play regularly, win and succeed. I loved that team. A weird mix of highly talented forinners and our workhorses and somehow Frankie Zola made it work. They deserved to go up. We’ll never play like that ever again. Just watch the season review, that’s as close as you’ll get. We upset all the dinosaurs in the league and media. We were renegades. It was amazing. Now Udinese are mostly turd and full of players we used to have, we get the even turdier ones. As a result, we are full of those, players who know it’s a well paid retirement home and other players who hate football like Cathcart, Foster and Kabasele. But it’s too well paid to leave the game behind. Especially when if it gets a bit too hard, we’ll get in a coach who’s nicer for them. And I couldn’t hate them more.
Must watch my language next time I sit in the Graham Taylor lower stand. Some random bloke asked me to mind my language at half time. Was only telling the players the truth they are lazy ******* .
I know you're being tongue-in-cheek, but your first two lines are completely correct. Brentford did bugger-all other than the two set-pieces they scored from, and we definitely did have chances to win it. But as we know there've been plenty of games this season where we've missed a glorious chance at one end, and then it's a given that the opposition a few minutes later take theirs.
If you think that was King regressing you must not have seen him play at all last season - that was the player we signed, earlier this season was just a brief purple patch.
Just a reminder that you must renew your season tickets by the end of the day tomorrow to qualify for the 'early bird' discount
Not seen our goal - suggesting is Sarr was maybe a bit fortunate to be called onside. As for Louza - couldn't sort himself out. Was a shocker. Hopeless defending again from set plays. Sack the bloke who rushes out from the dug out when we defend one too...
Just scrolling through a couple of threads this season. This guy's predictions have been shocking. Is this HB character a Luton fan or just thoroughly incompetent at predicting Watford results?
I could not agree more Going Underground! The only reason that I can think of as to why he doesn't get subbed is that the manager is under instructions to play him "to keep his value up". For me it's flawed logic because every match he "plays" must surely be bringing his value down? He did win a couple of free kicks today and can lay claim to an assist but he is just wandering around with no conviction. Sometimes you would describe a good player as 'making things happen', well Sarr is the exact opposite, waiting for something to happen and when it does, he seems to freeze.
He just comes out with controversial opinions which go against all common sense, then he softens them, then mitigates them, then pretends they never happened.
Could do a lot worse Tbh, I'd take that.! Only trouble would be they'd never understand a word each other said....
