In fairness, I think Dennis' best spell came from when he was dropped for a couple of games. He came on against Everton and produced one of the best cameos i've ever seen from a Watford player and played like a man possessed. Definitely had a point to prove. Hopefully he can do the same and kick on again. No doubt for me that Sarr is first name on the team sheet in a front three and that both Cucho and JP have played themselves into the starting 11 from here on in.
No chance Dennis will stick around Ybot. We can only hope we get a nice sum for him and Sarr to build a squad capable of gaining promotion but also developing as the nucleus of a stable PL outfit.
.... says person not content enough to counterargue my comment (which is fair enough, that's what a discussion forum is for) but then has to add an incorrect, immature and patronising little dig.
Still can’t imagine we’ll manage to survive. Shame Leeds won. Days like today make it quite frustrating that we haven’t been just a tiny bit better this season. It really wouldn’t have taken a dramatic improvement for us to have been comfortably above the drop zone.
Never in doubt, hopefully it will give the wetters some precious time to get to dry land. Hopefully the break will give Sarr to recover and Roy some extra time to get ready for Brentford and Leeds at home. As others have said, Sarr Pedro and Cucho should be given a chance to play together.
The players are good enough when they want to be. Today they were so let's eat some humble pie and pause the hate bud.
Do the so called bedwetters sh1t the bed when we win? Three weeks to wash and dry their bedding anyway.
After that shambolic, embarrassing defeat to Wolves just a few days ago that was some turn around. Listening to the radio commentary it sounds like we could have had 4. Credit where it’s due, at least we are clawing back a small amount of respect.
Well YE OF LITTLE FAITH the great escape is still firmly on!!! If we can turn our home form around we still have Everton, Leeds, Brentford, Burnley and Leicester to play at home, and although our home form has been **** up to now who's to say we can't win all five of those games, as they are all very winnable. Look at Newcastle and Brentford they have pulled clear of the mire in the last few weeks when many would have said before that that they were ****, just like we have been at home. Not to forget we still have to go to Palarse too, which could give us the "Brucey Bonus Points" we might need. So I don't see why we can't do something similar and win at least four of those games, which IMO would probably be enough to keep us up especially as the teams we have to finish above would be among the victims of us winning at home. So stop all your doom and gloom guys and get behind the golden boys because... WE CAN STILL DO THIS THE 'ORNS ARE STAYING UP Maybe I should say Five of those six games counting Palarse away
What a result and a fantastic day out, Watford fans were very loud. Sun out and plenty of drinks. I can't really fault anyone and I genuinely could not pick a man of the match. But special mention to Kabasele, Kucko and Cucho.
Can someone with access hit the 'restart' button on TVOR, please - he's stuck glitching out on repeat.
It was a must win game and we did. Credit to the team and the manager for bouncing back after Thursday. We only have a small chance but at least it is still alive. Hopefully we won’t be too far behind by the time we play Leeds at home which is also must win!
My thoughts: Foster- poor for their goal and didn't even try to save Ward-Prowse's free kick. On the other hand, he had a good save towards the end of the match and he did ok at crosses. Still prefer him to Bachman, but we should get a new keeper for next season. Kiko- decent game overall, but very poor crossing today. Kabasele- had a great game imo, I am still quite worried that he can make a terrible WTE-like mistake, but I prefer him over most of our other cbs. Hope he stays injury-free. Samir- solid display Kamara- excellent game apart from that silly foul that could have been very costly. Louza- Imo after Cucho our best player today. I wonder why he didn't play almost every minute this season. That being said, we conceded in part because of his mistake in the middle of the pitch. Sissoko- finally a very good game from him after quite a long time. I love it when he does that trick when he has his back turned away from goal and he is surrounded by 5 opposition players and then suddenly turns around and tricks them. Also good thing he didn't shoot today. Kucka- defensively excellent, probably our best midfielder defensively. Covered a lot of ground as well, his passing was sometimes very poor, but sometimes excellent. Great assist as well, but he should have done better with the 1 on 1 chance. Good shot in the second half. I'm actually fine with him starting every once in a while and him being the last 20 mins subs in other games. He definitely shouldn't start every game though. Also I think I prefer him to Cleverley. Dennis- dogsh*t for pretty much the whole first half. I actually think he was quite good in the second half. Helped out a lot in the defence and had 2 or 3 great assists. Joao Pedro- played really well, but I thought he was quite selfish, and 2 or 3 times he should have passed it instead of shooting. Prefer him to King, and I said many times, I'd like to see him as a "10" once Sarr is fit with Dennis as the striker and Sarr and Cucho as wingers. Louza and Sissoko would play more defensively then. Cucho- MOTM. So energetic and passionate. My favourite player this season. Always give his all and has some quality as well. He seemed up for it from the first minute. Subs:they didn't really play much did they? Roy should make subs earlier as some players began tiring. Also please no more Sema. I just don't see what he offers. Overall, decent performance and good three points. It'd be nice if we could stay up at expense of Everton and that would instantly make this season infinitely more enjoyable. Side note: Playing Liverpool next is actually good I think. We never get 2 good results in a row, we might as well play Liverpool then, who'll beat us regardless.
Glad the Junior Hornets saw a win and good performance. Although there was a picture of a coach on Twitter and well they didn’t look very young !
Well well well! The Holy Trinity! Watford win,L**** lose from 1-0 up and Hoddesdon beat Welwyn in a mixed match. I was checking the score at change of ends. Why so much Ian Dury time?
My argument is, we took two of the guys out the line up who many people have requested be removed due to mentality as well as technical ability. And we won. I may be wrong but I think they both started the Villa game so it could be coincidence but I do think we played a lot better today so.
Personally speaking and only my opinion but I really don’t think tonight is about worrying if we will survive (we probably won’t) or losing too much sleep over any negative performances (we know our squad has a lot of deficiencies )...it’s about celebrating the rarity of a win! Get in! Days like today have happened so infrequently this season so they’re there to be savoured. How today will end up fitting into the bigger picture remains to be seen (and it means we are stuck with RH a bit longer..hmmm) BUT as a match in isolation it’s a win on a ground that neither City nor Liverpool (or United and Spurs) could win at this season. A rare moment to enjoy in a miserable season, and enjoy it I plan to! I hope even @a19tgg agrees with this post of mine
