Isn't this just comedy booing? At least I always figured it was. Agree about the weirdness of our fans' reactions in general though.
Of course it is possible, though to take a leaf out of the many pessimists books on here, even I think that result is a little on the unlikely side, but you never know
There might be another factor which will improve our situation - I remember when RH became manager, there was comment that he rarely turned teams around quickly and that he needed ten or a dozen games to have an impact. I think the view was that this was a problem as we did not have that luxury. Well as it turns out we have managed to stay in touch over 9 games, so maybe we will see an improvement due to RH's philosophy/tactics starting to bear fruit? Also, if we avoid injuries on international duty or in training, it's possible that we could have a 100% fit squad to select from at the beginning of April.
Remembering what happened to Geri and how some of our supporters tried to defend Van Dijk hurts my insides still.
Definitely think there's some value in this. Etebo & N'Kolou with 3 weeks under their belt should be way closer to being ready. Plus with Cucho and JP on form, the likes of Josh King (if he has anything about him) should be training that extra bit harder knowing he's not an automatic starter. The same applies to the centre-backs and midfielders, I desperately hope. For example, Etebo, Kayembe & Kucka fighting for the third midfield starter spot.
It depends on whether we can build on the quicker release we showed at times versus Southampton (and even Arsenal) and couple that with an increased ability to play the correct final ball around the edge of the box. We messed up 2 very presentable chances versus Arsenal just because the final ball was so bad, and that was also true this Sunday. If a team can beat Leeds' press their defence is really very poor.
Did they really? Must have missed that, probably cos I was still cursing the cynical ******* and frothing at the mouth.
One annoying thing I noticed - both ourselves and the ref allowed Southampton to chuck the ball a few meters forward on most of their attacking free-kicks in wide areas, including the free-kick for their goal. One of our players should have kicked it back before running off, and/or the ref should have spotted it. We definitely lacked a bit of nous there.
To be honest, ‘lack of nous’ sums up our squad in many ways. It’s just part of their overall submissive nature and the lack of vocal leaders on the pitch.
I've been certain of relegation for weeks now but I'm now feeling that there's still a chance of us staying up, depending basically on whether RH can keep the players focussed and can find his best 11 including with the return of the injured guys.? The next few games will show whether we've started to click or whether another few wolves-type games are looming. I was never expecting the last result so anything can happen if enough players can perform at their best. (big shout out to Cucho - I liked him for a while now... Keep him in please..
