Lobbing £20m at a bottom half championship striker/winger in the last hours, after spending the whole window refusing to pay money for centre backs would be prime Pozzo

If Spurs get £30 million for Ali we'll easily get £50 million for Sarr

Even if this is true, its very odd- essentially Gino won't even give himself a better chance of staying up by only borrowing a player. He only wants to borrow him if he can keep him and would happily have us be weaker if thats not possible.

There is no problem at all with borrowing him, then letting him go back to Liverpool and doing proper work in the summer to sort out our defence.

Not sure how you've arrived at the conclusion he would get more game time at Bournemouth either - they already have far better CB's than we do.

Gino not looking beyond his own nose. Again.

Different style of player - Semenyo is much more of a dribbler than a finisher, more along the Sarr vein.

I'd guess Everton are covering 100% - risky but they can absorb that significantly better than most outside top 8 should he flop.

It's a much better option than bring barkley back.

Not sure what wages he's on but put in a cheeky loan bid for Henderson he won't be playing with de gea in goal

120k per week. Most Man Utd salaries are nuts.

To be fair, they wouldn't. Atg mentioned in another thread, that amounts to around £2m until the end of the season. Hardly bank breaking, and they might not even expect the full amount.

We won't get him though because our team is **** and he won't want to play for us, and even though £2m is effectively **** all and almost certainly completely worth it, Gino still won't pay it and will probably offer about £20k.

Time to actually take a gamble for once. Not even a gamble to be honest, only £2million until the rest of the season.

Fair play to Anton Ferdinand for giving the word ‘coup’ a good go on SSN. Obviously, he said ‘coop’ but it’s clear he was trying to learn some tv speak before going on air.

Is he another wide forward? Ok if he was more central.

You forgot Quina, Gray, Foster, Elliot, Hughes and Chalobah. Although at least some of them were shifted.

And after he had already rejected a move to France no doubt looking to get back into the Man U team.

Really strange behaviour, we had a few targets through the door on day one that we’d obviously been working on before the window opened. If we genuinely wanted players like Jones and Henderson then we needed to be working on them before the window even opened, not moments before it closed. It’s not like our defence was suddenly going to miraculously improve, pointless behaviour from Gino.

Maybe they expected other clubs to move for them and never wanted to be involved in a bidding war. By moving last minute with most likely low ball offers and hoping it came off was the plan, which obviously never worked

Strange, but I think we can all agree it has been stable behaviour.

Tyrhys Dolan looks decent from what I have seen of him. A bit like a much more raw Jared Bowen.

I think the best raw Jarred Bowen option in the championship is Keane Lewis-Potter.

Is he that ‘raw’? Hull wanted £20m from Brentford for him. I’d argue at that price he has to be better than raw!

The Championship is largely a sellers marketplace now. I’d suggest you only really get genuinely raw Talent to nurture at a decent price from League One or below.

Ebosele to replace Sarr maybe this summer? Think they're the same position?

I do think he is raw, yes, even if they do want a lot of money for him. Brennan Johnson is much more of a finished product in my opinion although both are on a very positive trajectory.

But I suppose it depends how you class “raw.” I do think first season at Championship level/getting consistent minutes would be reasonable for a young player (although that would apply to Lewis-Potter and Johnson and not to Dolan).

He's much better at wing-back or right back than he is as a winger.
