Unless he’s some sort of confirmed wonder kid available at a relative bargain price, it just seems like a bit of an odd signing for us. The Almunia/Gomes/Foster model has served us well, and they’re basically allergic to buying centre backs due to not believing they have any resale value, so it’s hard to believe they somehow believe goal keepers have more resale value than centre backs?
I’m not sure. He started well but was dropped at Doncaster so then loaned to Gillingham where he started one game and was then dropped there too. Not ideal.
Sorry - what has any of it got to do with you? By all means join the debate but not sure the misunderstanding has anything whatsoever to do with you?
But if he's not good enough for a Championship (soon to be League 1, of course) club, how have we ruined his career? Surely he's ruined his own career by being so utterly, utterly cr@p? A mistake at AFCON and a couple of nasty articles from Nigerian media outlets that definitely don't have any agenda against him, no way Jose.
You’re interventions are odd to say the least - the above is just a weird post. I repeat, why are you butting in and trying to create friction? Me and UEA have always gotten on and any misunderstanding took 2 posts to clear up. Won’t be replying about it again and certainly not to you, who it didn’t, and still doesn’t, even involve. Bizarre.
Relax. It was a joke. If you think it's a limited scope conversation, take it to a private message. You don't get to decide who responds to a public post, and neither does anyone else.
Seamen, Shilton made errors in major competitions didn't make them bad keepers. It's not like any media organisations don't get on players backs and the UK is up there with the very worst. I will go old school and make my mind up once I've witnessed him playing for us. If that ever happens.
Quality and absorbing performance from Okoye tonight. Saved a penalty (fully outstretched) and made nine saves as Rotterdam appeared to be heading for the first win at Vittese in 21 games. Then in the 92nd minute a fan came on the pitch and confronted him before Okoye told him where to go. Then he was hit by a bottle thrown from the crowd and now the match has been suspended for 20 mins after the players ran off the pitch.
Wouldn’t get that at the Vic ! Millwall maybe .. Video of the confrontation here : https://mobile.twitter.com/Merijn_Slagter/status/1499851961893638145 Being hit at both. https://mobile.twitter.com/UncleWillo/status/1499857124591087617
Now seems like the match might have abandoned. The result should really hold given that to have the match fully replayed would reward Vitesse’s fans bad behaviour and deny Sparta an important win. I know nothing about Dutch football (happened to tune in as bored at work) but I do wonder how this one shakes out.
Obviously he's still a dud because he made a mistake for Nigeria and a random newspaper said some mean words about him, but it's nice to see the tiniest glimmer of light in this utter shitshow of a signing. DUD.
Touch of gamesmanship about the way he went down there. If the bottle was full seems like he'd have gone down like he was poleaxed instead of thinking about it for a few seconds first before sadly collapsing like a deflating balloon.
He'll need to be adept at dealing with disgruntled fans considering the direction the club is going, so this is a promising sign.
Even the worst keepers have one amazing game a season, it seems his was last night. Fair play to him but I'd still like him sold in the summer.
If he can handle a bottle being thrown at him, I'm sure he can handle a displeased elderly woman with a sign tbf
Nath will be too busy complaining that Cleverley and Cathcart are still starting for us in 2029 to notice that Okoye is the second coming of Arlauskis
His nickname on arrival is absolutely guaranteed to become 'The Madman' - as sure as night follows day. You heard it here first.
I think he will have gone Michael Douglas from falling down by this point and gunned down the entire training ground. Understandably, he'd be acquitted of any wrong doing.
Looks like he has an angry side. Hopefully this can be transferred onto the rest of our bunch of losers
Another clean sheet, and they are out of the relegation zone for the first time in many months. Sent from my TECNO P701 using Tapatalk
