Didn't watch his game last night but a third successive clean sheet for one of the worst team in the Eredivisie is impressive. Sent from my TECNO P701 using Tapatalk
But some nerd on a keyboard and a random Nigerian journalist say he's crap, so who's to say who's right?
Wow, really impressive stuff, a clean sheet against NEC Nijmegen. Shame he's Bachmann 2.0. Try and get our money back in the summer.
Who will be number one ? Foster and Bachman will probably leave . Mind you will he want to play in the Championship!
Pretty sure he just won Eredivisie goalkeeper of the month and had 4 clean sheets in 5 (if you include the game that was suspended due to crowd trouble in the 92nd minute against Vitesse) but sure. We’re always complaining that we don’t take a chance on young talent and clearly need a refresh in the goalkeeping department. We can certainly complain about the seemingly high fee and the baffling decision to spend one of our highest fees on a player who didn’t join our relegation battle but he is clearly a talented player with a high ceiling and I think he’ll do well for us in the Championship next season.
We lost 3-0, in a Must Win, final throw of the dice six pointer against a terrible side whilst our gurning keeper was a big part of that. Tell me again how buying a keeper for a significant fee, to help a pub side in a pub league win pub games was a good use of our limited resources.
He looks like he's error-prone and can't deal with crosses, so basically identical to our current keepers. If that's the case why did we sign him and why did we spend a big fee on him? Another for the dud pile, he'll be on loan somewhere by 2023.
Did you read my post? I specifically said we CAN complain about the fee and the nature of the deal (because he should be playing for us now). But that’s an issue with Gino etc. And yet you and others are insistent that he’s awful and fixate on every error he makes, ignoring when he does something good. He’s a good player who will do well for us I think but I obviously do not think we should have spent the reported fee on him to leave him at his club as I said earlier. He’s a very different keeper from Foster and even if he were identical in quality/style to Foster currently (which I doubt considering Foster doesn’t even try to save shots these days seemingly) he is obviously at a stage in his career where he’s likely to improve. I think he is a lot more aggressive than our other keepers and has a much higher ceiling but he is error prone and I hope he’ll be afforded patience by the fan base. I’ve been impressed with him the two or three times I’ve watched him but can see it’s been an up and down season for him this year - can you point to a consistent 22 year old GK?

Most importantly how motivated will the bloke be to play in the Championship having basically signed thinking he would be a PL player .
He has been bloody awful in many games this season. The Dutch league poor. The standard has dropped massively in the past few years. He is Nigerian so according to his Passport, we will have him for years to come.
We paid such a high fee for the Madman because of the Heart-throb premium. It's basic economics, guys.
I think he knew the score when we announced him tbf, I seem to recall he said he was willing to play for us in the Championship too. Probably assumed if we are to go down, that we'd be favourites to go up next season, which may be presumptuous tbf!
Probably better for his career too that we go down. I am not sure whether we’d have trusted him to be a PL number one straight off the bat. Hopefully he finds his feet in the Championship and we then go up and he keep his place. But sure, could be a dud.
I don't know anything about this lad and haven't had chance to read through the whole thread, but is he another one of Mogi's clients? If so, then I guess that's why we lumped out £6m on someone who wasn't coming here when we really needed to upgrade that position.
According to two or three random articles, The Madman's agent is someone called Wessel Weezenberg - apparently a former Feyenoord midfielder.
My bet would be on Foster signing a new deal. Doubt anyone else would take him now, he can see out his days here and potentially get his GoPro back in the net next season too.
Didn’t we sign him last summer ? You suggesting the club thought we were down before a ball was kicked .. Not got that impression tbh. Otherwise we would have not sacked 2 managers and brought in more players in January.
