Absolutely he's a top 10 player, look at what he's done in an absolutely chaotic, injury-hit season where he's had Troy Deeney as his main striker, get him in any team with a competent winger on the other side, and a competent striker and he'll look a million dollars

We paid around £27m for him, plus another £4.5m if we avoid relegation. So, at least we'll probably won't need to make the extra payment.

I only saw reports of us paying £40mil for him. Hope you’re right. I would love it if Sarr gave us one season in the championship to get promoted. Highly doubtful though.

Watford hold the cards on this one. He's still got 4 years of his contract, so that's massive. We paid nearly £30m, but there would be a sell-on once we move him on. I can't see us selling for less than £50m and I don't really see clubs paying that, but if Liverpool are keen, maybe they will.

Personally I think Watford will look to keep him, but they maybe forced to loan him next season if we go down.

What would show the fans the players care about the club is if they owned this crap season, committed to making it right next season by sticking out it and getting us promoted.

Unfortunately that will never happen. It’s all about the money and agents.

Would be amazing to see Sarr, Welbeck, Pedro and Cucho make a front 4 in the championship. Never going to happen though.

Sarr is unlikely, but I would actually expect the other three to be part of the squad next season.

3 of them would be injured at one time if they were here at all.

Man Utd apparently looking at him as a cheaper option than Jadon Sancho so offer him to them for a season's loan with an option to buy for £50m (with a sell-on clause for us). They would also pay a loan fee or as an option loan us Dan James whose place would be under threat if Sarr went there. Also if Dan James is on more wages than Sarr then Utd to contribute towards them.

As I already posted earlier in this thread, this is immaterial because Utd will sign Sancho. They'll only be naming other possible targets as part of trying to negotiate Sancho's price down.

Also from Sarrs point of view - If he sulked/refused to play then he's doing so at a key part in his career.

    Absolutely this.

He is very raw and inconsistent, but he has shown in his first year of English football that he has all the attributes to be a very good player.

His issue this season is that when he gets down the channels behind the defence, he has absolutely no one within half the length of the pitch to pass to.

People on here criticise his crossing, but I've seen him put in some excellent crosses that any top player would get on the end of. He's also shown excellent close control and skill to beat a player, but again, has no one ahead of him to play the ball to.

Subsequently he tries to do too much himself, or his head drops, and he slowly fades out of the game.

I think he'd be excellent playing with rapid strikers such as Rashford and Martial, so I can see why they'd be interested in him as they are really lacking in depth. Although I agree they will opt for Sancho who has proved himself at the top level and is a better all-rounder.

Of the top sides, I'd argue that Liverpool are the most likely to sign him as a backup to Mane, who seems to like him and would tutor him to improve his game.

He'd be more as a backup to Salah; Mane plays on the left.

True. Salah could also easily play on the left and Sarr on the right.

I don't think we are. Those cradle snatchers at Abu Dhabi will be. Disgusting we get peanuts for a player we helped to develop. These so called super clubs are a shameless bunch of *****s.

Are we still being investigated by FIFA over not paying 2 African clubs Sarr played for ?

I see him being signed up by Leeds. A loan to begin, then once he has a decent season we get offered £200M from Real Madrid, I've seen the future.

Oh for Christ's sake, we really dig our heels in over really small issues. How much would we have to pay those clubs, couple of hundred thousand?

I honestly think if the owners are serious about getting back to The Premier league and I believe that they will be because I assume that they will feel like they have invested too much for us to be back where we started and they will notice the difference financially. Our owners receive a lot of criticism and rightly so at times, however the Pozzo's are no idiots and will likely already have a plan to get us back to the Premier League straight away, because Gino will know that the best thing for the club and his and the Pozzo families pockets will be to bounce back to The Premier league as soon as possible. I think whether Sarr goes or not depends on the gamble the owners are willing to take. If Ismaila Sarr is playing Championship football next season it is almost a certainty that we will get promoted.

Absolutely nothing is a certainty in the Championship.

If you want to get promoted from the Championship, you need 2 things:

    1) Momentum
    2) Belief

As we have seen from the last few seasons, this squad is largely not short on ability but its mentality is more fragile than a priceless China vase underneath a herd of elephants.

Should we get relegated this season, significant changes are needed in terms of the playing squad to get rid of the passengers and the mentally weak, and to replace them with those who can carry this team forward when needed the most. Until that happens, promotion from the Championship is a pipe dream I'm afraid.

I don't believe it is a pipe dream. I think that a lot of championships clubs next season will be struggling financially because of COVID and it will be a weaker division than it would in more usual circumstances. I agree about passengers needing to go and I am hopeful that they will do, and I hope to see some of the younger players. Say what you want about The Pozzo's but mostly they did get it right when we were in the Championship and we were on a different level to the majority of the sides. I agree maybe not a complete certainty but I would certainly have confidence if we had Ismaila Sarr at that level.

I suspect we will get our money back for Sarr, with no profit. Covid will impact on transfer fees, and we will desperate to cash-in with a huge wage bill that will be about 4 times our income

Unless we make a profit on Sarr, what is the point of selling him even if we go down on Sunday?

Even if the worst were to happen and we go down, surely it makes more sense to keep him, and not only him but all of our better players, especially as the transfer fees are depressed at the moment. We should play hardball if necessary and hold those better players to their contracts, then should we go down we might just have a better chance of bouncing back next season.

If all that were to happen, those same players will probably be worth more money, and that would be the time to cash in on them if we wanted to.

Like when he joined probably get sold at the last minute after a long running saga ..

Then we are left with no replacement.
