With respect I must disagree with you. The beauty of dyer is he recognises and embraces his weaknesses, as that chap mentioned in this thread earlier on. He doesnt pretend he's a hard man at all. In the series where he meets the petty criminal hard men, he never ever implies he himself is a hard man. He is self deprecating and modest and is genuinely grateful for the opportunities his success has given him. And I love him.
Sorry, are you American, or very young? Not trying to be insulting, just intrigued that you note that and phrase it in that way, because it's quite an old show, originally made by Sky for tv, and was quite culturally 'relevant' when it was on.
Think the most fascinating thing about Danny Dyer is that, as a very young actor, in the theatre, he was a protege of Harold Pinter. Imagine that.
I didnt know that, just reading about it. Amazing. Remember his tweet on the anniversary of 9/11? He put into words what the whole world was thinking: "Can’t believe it’s been nearly 11 years since them slags smashed into the twin towers it still freaks my nut out to this day".
I normally travel via Willesden Jct to Hackney Wick to walk to the stadium, but there is engineering works on Saturday, so have to take an alternative. Can you walk through Westfield to get to the stadium from Stratford. Or would going to Pudding lane on the DLR be better, or go to Stratford International from st Pancras.
The funny thing about Tim Westwood is that, as you point out, he is the 60-year-old son of a Church of England Bishop. So, the accent with which he speaks is an accent that literally did not exist when he was born/was growing up, even if you were prepared to accept an explanation as to why a child of his background were to have adopted it in childhood.
Not ashamed to say that I just went found this part of the episode on YouTube, and proceeded to spend the next 5 minutes giggling to myself. Utterly majestic.
I dunno who that whopper is you've posted, but danny dyer was born in canning town so the east end geezer thing is not fake.
Yep, wonderful telly. This is worth a read... https://www.buzzfeed.com/elliewoodw...-of-all-time?utm_term=.gfMmZM0d75#.cnNJ503Mmz
Nobody talks in such a premeditatedly geezerish manner, especially if they've been rubbing shoulders with luvvies for the last 25 years. Fake noos.
On a semi-related note, has anyone else noticed that Pereyra seems to have bulked up a fair bit since last season? To me it looks like he's done an Ozil, and if true, that can only be a good thing to help him with the demands of the league.
Fair point but would you agree that they should never remake any of the following films: Beetlejuice The Goonies Watership Down
I have not watched Goonies or Watership Down since childhood, think Watership Down is relentlessly, crushingly depressing isn't it so I'm fine with that staying as it is. Have to admit to Beetlejuice being before my time and not having been particularly attracted to watching it since, although that's no comment on its quality
Hope this won't be an after the Lord mayor's show performance Remember beating Utd two years ago, only for Burnley to bring us back down to earth straight away
Bit late to this party but mention of the Blues Brothers has enticed me in. Probably my favourite film (original, how could you possibly think re-making that was going to work), great cast, great quotes, great music. 2nd favourite is Dambusters, will probably never been shown again on TV due to the unfortunately named pooch, great shame, about not showing it and the untimely end of the pooch. The Guard is an absolute cracker too. Anything Monty Python is also up there. can't recall a bad Morgan Freeman film either (shame on you Shawshank Redemption naysayers) Think being crap to glorious run is a leap so I'd be happy with 1 - 1 tomorrow, if anything like Mondays performance continues we will be free and clear in no time. Love to see Rich crying with joy tomorrow though. Almost any American romcom or attempt at comedy film is crap, 40 year old virgin etc...... woeful.
I'd agree with that. But then, I would really rather have preferred it if they hadn't made the originals either.
