He's said that multiple times in the past as well. Nothing new. In his view we could of Allison and prime Kasper S. in goal at the same time and they would still be 'crap'.

In the same way that the forum changes "c0ldplay" to "yawnmongers", can we not just get his name switched to "That loud-mouthed opinionated self-publicising internet narcissist" when it's typed ? No jokes about that title being held in reserve for anyone on this forum please.

He really isn't. He has his faults but so does every keeper in the league hence they are in The Championship.

You assume incorrectly - no there have not.

The last two seasons I have looked myself, and as per the links below I was also asking others on here this time last year who these imaginary goalkeepers supposedly were who we could sign, but there weren't any possibilities.

If you look at the current keepers in the Championship who match that description, the closest is Karl Darlow - but he's at Leeds so was clearly out of reach for us.

Aside from him there's perhaps Begovic, who is now terrible, or even Hamer, albeit he never had the same reputation as a PL goalkeeper (though was actually good for us this season).

I’ve just had a cursory look at Transfermarket searching for keepers older than 34 with contracts ending soon, and there were more than a few viable options better than Bachmann.

So why would you say there haven’t been any Foster, Gomez and Almunia equivalents since those players?

Keepers have dramatically dropped off in quality? Keepers have dramatically gone up in value?

Gomez, Foster and Almunia were freak generational talents, that were able to perform at the highest level in the premier league, but by age 35+ nobody else but a championship club wanted?

Because I literally just told you above and pointed you to some threads:

The last two seasons I have looked, and also asked others on here to look and give their suggestions. There have been none of "very similar ability and experience as Almunia, Gomez and Foster" who we could have signed in the last couple of seasons.

The best people could come up with last summer were Heaton and Karius - but Heaton has stayed at Man Utd and Karius at Newcastle. Karl Darlow joined Leeds. The previous summer there was Sam Johnstone, who ended up at PL Crystal Palace.

    Who are these "viable options"?!

David Ospina who is earning the big bucks in Saudi?
Keylor Navas earning the big bucks abroad at PSG?
    Rui Patricio at Roma?
Hugo Lloris who left for America to earn big bucks and enjoy the sun in LA (and still has at least until Jan 25 left)?
Kasper Schmeichel has an option for an extra year which Anderlecht will surely exercise as he's their first choice.

Also, a reminder that all of Almunia, Gomes and Foster joined us not from abroad but from PL clubs. Plus all of them already lived locally to us. Foster also joined us when we were in the PL.

You’ve literally just picked the top five most expensive names, the list runs to 4 pages with plenty of viable, cost effective options on there. Obviously if you only look at the very top of the list when it’s sorted in value order, and ignore the other 3 and half pages of results then it isn’t going to work very well for you is it.

If there's "plenty" then it should be very easy for you to name them. You've not said a single one.

Lloris and Schmeichel are actually the only two players on there who seem to have fairly similar profiles to Almunia, Gomes and Foster, so it's completely reasonable to name them (while pointing out they're not actually viable).

Name even a single one there who is of "very similar ability and experience as Almunia, Gomez and Foster" and viable. Go on - in your own words there's supposedly loads to choose from.

Maybe Adrian? But he lives up north and not played in 2 years.

Surely if you're going to post a fact like you mention you would back this up with some you think would be suitable. They maybe different to what I think so not much point me looking, I'm more interested in who you think would be ideal for us
Edit - I've had a look and now even more interested in who we could possibly get
