At the beginning of last season, he looked as if he was going to become one of our best-ever right backs, but as time went on he got worse and worse, eventually becoming a real liability. Which is the real Nyom? I've no idea.

For the vast majority of us that were there chanting/booing him, there was nothing racist said from us. However I heard a few say some (what I certainly deemed to be anyways) racist stuff to which I called them on it

I liked Nyom, he did seem to be a bit of a donkey towards the end of last season (most notably at the FA Cup Semi-Final against Palarse). But the fact that he celebrated a West Brom goal directly in front of all the Watford fans is a bit of a **** move to be honest. It's not like all of them were Anti-Nyom... Well I hope not anyways.

West Brom on Tuesday will be a tough one; they are essentially the 'other' Watford in the league where they get the occassional good wins [I.e. 3-1 win against Arsenal, and 4-2 win against West Ham] whilst also getting smacked up the 4rse by clubs such as Spurs. Unfortunately, they seem to be scraping more wins than Watford which gives them the edge above us by an important 10 points. That said, their points do not really reflect their actual quality in my opinion. For example, when the 'Orns travelled up to the Hawthornes, the score was 3-1 to them which implies a massive thumping which really wasn't when looking back on it. 2 of their goals were rebounds and the 3rd came against a team of 10 tired men (after Pereyra was sent off).

Therefore, if we are to get some points out of the game on Tuesday, we are going to have to avoid giving away pathetic free-kicks, try not get any red cards and to mark their forwards better. Sadly, I feel that the lenient ref we had against Sunderland (he was more of a 'carry on with the advantage' type) will give our players the impression that they can be more expressive when it comes down to tackling and there may well be more fouls on Tuesday than on Saturday which at the moment is my biggest concern.

In terms of quality, I have no doubt we can match their squad on our day. Lets just hope Tuesday is in fact 'our day'.

What's good here is that having got what we needed yesterday, we've now got another one coming up straight away. Just like the good old days ...

this is ridiculous. Their squad is miles better than ours. As it should be, they've been in the top league for years.

It's dangerous to start viewing teams like west brom as teams we should be beating. It sets expectations unrealistically high, and you then turn into hornetboy1.

If both teams are on form, we lose.

Another boring match against the most boring side in the league.
lets hope they don't score a set piece early on.Otherwise we will have to watch them pass it round the back for the rest of the match.

I think West Brom have been fine to watch this year. Karanka's Boro were surely the worst team to watch.

How is beating a yo-yo team high expectations ? In my opinion our team is a step ahead of the baggies they just have a accomplished manager in Tony Pulis that knows how to play in the prem and knows how to get a favourable result, while we got a manager who can barely be asked to learn the bloody language. But in talent we by far have the upper hand, West Brom have a lack in talent around the pitch that could potentially give us a nice win, if fast players such as Niang and Success are used in the correct way to run past their 3 man back line that have no speed in them,in the same way CPFC and Townsend did recently we should come out with a big fat W !

Also if we don't expect to get a favourable result against West Brom, who are we hopping to get a result againts ?

Success has already made his April appearance, expect him to come on as a sub against Liverpool at the earliest.

I can't really see how beating West Brom is an "unrealistically high" expectation. If anything, they are a pretty average team in a season where any team below 10th are pretty poor. Moreover, judging by some of our previous performances (e.g. Arsenal and Man U), it is far from impossible to scrape a victory against them. In fact, I would rather be optimistic for our team than pessimistic with a self-fulfilling prophecy of losing to the 'bigger clubs'.

"If both teams are on form, we lose"

Says who, Paul Merson? I'm sorry but that is a ridiculous comment in itself. As you may know, in football anything can happen and there are often occassions where the better [on form with good morale] sides have been beaten by weaker sides who are (in some cases) already relegated or fighting to survive relegation. In fact, that bleedin' well happened last Saturday where Crystal Parlarse beat top of the table Chelsea.... Granted, Chelsea did dominate in every way in that match apart from goals scored. Another example would be Newcastle last year where they beat Spurs 5-1 even though they had nothing to fight for (unlike Spurs).

Anyways, if we do lose, I am not going to go on a rampage chanting 'Mazzarri Out' or 'This squad is shet'; because as you say, West Brom is above us and they do indeed have more experience in the Premier League than us so there is a higher probability that they will win...

How the f u c k can you label West Brom a yo-yo team?! That is one of the most mealy-mouthed things I've seen here recently, they've been in the Prem for 7 consecutive seasons, and they've already confirmed they'll be there for an 8th! Beating a yo-yo team might not be a unrealistic expectation, but that does not apply to the brommers.

Well Lawro has us to win 2-0!

    I'd take that..

Fair enough, this has been the case due to the defensive style they've adopted since coming back up under a bunch of British managers. But I still stand by that we have a stronger squad and that in my opinion we should win ! 2-0 if Gomes doesn't muck up on set pieces !

Just like we hadn't beaten Manure, Everton and Arsenal (in the league) I think they have a better squad, but I'm an optimistic happy clapper so I'm going for a win.

If we do win, will everyone stop mentioning relegation? Or will HB1 move the chance to 70/30 (whatever that might mean)

I think time in the top flight has little bearing on squad strength - Sunderland have been in the PL longer than WBA. AV were in Div1/PL for decades. Although it does make you wonder how the PL riches get squandered by some clubs......

    One-nil win, Deeney penalty.

Massive game. Lose this and then at spurs, hull and Swansea win one of their next 2 (both easy run ins and hull have Boro next) and we are only 3-4 points out if the bottom 3 with a tough run in. Really important we pick up points tonight.

A draw would be a good result for both teams I expect that will be the unwritten unsaid rule if no one goes ahead early. A drab affair then

Cathcart at full back again I reckon because of their height and probably Janmaat in the front three avoiding the need to start Success which he clearly doesn't want to do.

Might need him in the middle if Prodl not yet fit and Kaboul injured ? I do prefer Janmaat at RB or RWB.

Prodl is fit. My guess is:

    Gomes

    Cathcart
    Prodl
    Britos
    Holebas

    Cleverley
    Doucoure
    Capoue

    Janmaat
    Deeney
    Niang

Perfect chance to start Success but I'd imagine Amrabat will come off the bench before him tonight.
