If we batter Fulham, there won’t be any of them lacking any sharpness, injuries not withstanding. That should be the message and belief. I would also easily bet that Wolves don’t rest players against United at home.
Penaranda injured. Feel for him tbh. Never given a chance in the past and now his best chance to play has come, he's bloody injured! Won't be long til he starts getting facked off that he's never playing and wants to leave. What annoys me the most is that i've been so excited to see him play for us over the past years and he's not being played at all.
I think it’s likely he simply isn’t up to scratch. Gracia has Success ahead of him in the pecking order who has been pretty ineffective over a significant sample size. He hasn’t played for 2 years and his development has been stunted. Some bad decisions both by himself and the club have compromised his career.
Penaranda has lost a lot of time through injury for several years, if I recall the club put him through an operation to correct a long standing problem. Aside from injury he's missed out by not being over here under decent UK coaches, he didn't get a pre season, and he's seen as a striker which means he's up against Delia and Deeney. He's not ready but that doesn't mean he hasn't go potential. He's only 21 for goodness sake.
Marco Cassetti in town for tomorrow's match apparently. There's rotation and then there's taking the piss...
Tuesday to late Sunday. Plenty of time. Full strength v Fulham, light tactical training for rest of week.
Rest the key players. 5 days but there could be ET and pens. If we want to play a high press (on that enormous pitch )it will pay to have fresh legs.
I suppose he sustained that as part of his visa application when he underwent extensive training in British activities such as queuing, unnecessary apologies and long standing.
Johnny Haynes said "hello" to me when I was little and "nice trap son" to my brother. I recall Cameron outside CC eating an ice cream, on the day we were promoted under GT, the second time around. I thought they would be ok given the huge wodges of cash they splashed in the summer. On reflection perhaps they should have played Johnny!
If either Capoue or Doucoure are rested it leaves the central midfield positions pretty light in terms of numbers. Cleverley is injured so Quina will be chomping at the bit for a start. I can't imagine Chalobah having 90 minutes in his legs so probably sub to come on later for whichever one of Capoue or Doucoure starts. What I'd really like to see is Daniel Phillips from the U23 squad named on the bench and in an ideal world get a 20-30 minute cameo.
Whichever Keeper isn’t starting Sunday Masina Kabasele Britos Whichever right back isn’t starting Sunday Sema Quina Doucoure Hughes Gray Deeney Subs: Pontus, Mariappa, Navarro, Chalobah, Capoue, Deulofeu, Whichever right back is starting Sunday If game is going well, Doucs, Hughes and Deeney to be subbed 2nd half to keep them fresh for Sunday. If not going so well, Caps and Deulofeu come off the bench to win it COYH
Why is this game on a Tuesday night? It’s not on telly. EFL matches are played on a Tuesday night, have we both been been relegated or something? An impatient crowd reflect a jittery match as WFC players try to avoid injured. Watford 1 Fulham 0
Finally, time to avenge the cold Boxing Day 5-0 defeat in 2000. I have been waiting for this moment for almost 20 years now.
Too risky, we need him on the wide open spaces at Wembley, as the bigger pitch will suit him. If Man city win on Saturday there's a guaranteed Champions League place up for grabs in our game, making it the biggest prize for any single game in history.
One of the worst days out at football I've ever had and it absolutely freezing. Thanks for reminding me of it
Decent chance for us to get him up to full-speed so he can give away another Wembley penalty on Sunday. Good thinking by the club IMO.
ps Just to get into the spirit of the brexit threads.... Rotate means rotate you ****, if you can't accept that you are just a ******** **** and ****. I ****ing hate you and everything you stand for. You are deliberately sabotaging 7th place as you've never believed in it. Putting you on ignore.
The pitch at Wembley is actually 15m narrower and 29m shorter than the pitch at VR. You can see this when looking at the relationship between the 18 yard boxes and the halfway line.
I am curious why Wolves and ourselves are playing Tuesday and Brighton and City on Wednesday. Surely should be the other way round or at least they should play their matches on Tuesday as well. Not that I'm complaining, gives us plenty of recovery time.
I still watch that game saved on the sky planner every now and again. Especially the part where the commentator notes that the WFC fans there were calling for Abdi to take that free kick and then, after he scored from it (clever shot under the wall), "...and that's why....". I still miss him....
Because Man City play CL in midweek after the semi-final and the PL will accommodate their needs rather than those of Brighton. Just a guess.
The only boxes I'm looking at at Wembley is the Executive Boxes m8. Can mass debate refereeing decisions with a free bar.
With Wolves having lost against Burnley, 7th is ours for the taking if we keep our performances up. We can't afford any complacency, even against Fulham. Given Capoue's card situation it might be sensible to leave him out. Gray in for Deeney would also be good to see. Other than that we should go with our full-strength team. If Holebas is fit then he should start again.
Given what Deeney and Deulofeu did against a beleaguered Cardiff defence, I’d give them the nod tonight. I’d also start Capoue as the yellow card situation has no bearing on the FA Cup game.
No, the Wembley pitch is lightly bigger because it was built under EU regs and uses the metric system. That's what's confusing you.
