Malteser, I think you're in the wrong forum - this is football, not fantasies!

Although yesterday, for a few minutes, the lines were blurred.

Still get goosebumps thinking about it. Am on a tube train heading in to London so might get weird looks smiling like a simpleton.

If ever there was a tonic for exorcising the demons lurking from the Leeds game then yesterday was it.

When Deeney scored that winner every single bit of residue lingering from that painful day was washed away forever.

Now one more date with destiny awaits and if I were the opposition I would be very nervous...

Did you never wonder why the penalty taker took at least a 20 second run up to take said penalty?

By the letter of the law yes it is. I also saw that they ripped some seats up in the away end.

I cant believe the euphoria I am still feeling, I woke up smiling. I know we still have it all to do again at Wembley but yesterday was the perfect game as a post GT Watford fan.

Erm......What?! Watford are going to Wembley? Are you sure?

    HOLY *****!!!!

What a day! Brilliant game all round but those last 5 minutes were something else. To be honest, I didn't even know we were on a break until Anya passed the ball to Forestieri. Sat down for the penalty and didn't watch. Watching the videos back, Almunia looked like he was in slow motion for the rebound. Incredible. I still think that he isn't going to get to it each time I see it. I still can't believe it.

I Could not go to the game yesterday because I had to go to work. I was working in Rugby which is not to far away from Leicester for those that don't know I decided to go to a boozer to watch the game, the pub was full of Leicester fans so I sat in a corner on my own and tried to keep out their way. When they got the penalty I walked out of the pub and watched it through the pub window and when we scored I was jumping up and down in the middle or Rugby town centre I must have looked a bit mad I am usualy a placid person but for some reason in the heat of the moment I decided to bang on the pub window where all of the Leicester fans were sitting and unzip my jacket revealing my Watford shirt and jump up and down celebrating, A few of them come storming out giving it loads fortunately I never got a kick in. I think this sort of thing goes to show what sort of moment it was yesterday.

Yes, I heard this and thought the same thing. Not quite as "offensive" as the chants directed to Leicester in the past concerning the ethnicity of some of the town's inhabitants but there you go.

wow. just wow. Im still buzzing today. When Deeney's goal went in i almost went arse over *** the poor guy in front of me. Whatever happens at wembley, that penalty/goal will always be a special moment i will never forget. It was just amazing - and what a celebration inside the ground!!, I really dont think ive ever experienced anything like that before. The last three games have been such a roller coaster of emotions that i'm not sure i could take wembley as well. Really buzzing today and for all those who have spent the season slagging off our 'foreign mercenaries' should just watch their reaction when the ball goes in - that goal certainly meant something to them.

And Mr Holloway - vydra's first goal yesterday - the skill & ability needed to score like that - that is why Vydra and not glen murray was championship player of the season!!

I cant add anything else to what has been said already. except for one point. We have recently had some very bad family news, yesterday put a smile on everyones face. Even people who have no real interest in Football. Such is the power of football. So thanks to all the players, staff etc, just for a day or so putting a smile on everyones face.

When things get a bit tough I will draw upon the memory of Deeney smashing in the winner.

Lets enjoy the moment, but then we move on and focus on one more massive game.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but... Had the referee decided to book Marco for his outrageously cynical assault on No-heart (which, if he thought it was a deliberate and cynical tug back, he probably should have), it would have been his second yellow. Subsequent red card would have meant he wasn't there to play his exquisite 40 yard pass to Ikechi and we would have been into extra time with only 10 men or, god forbid, a Leicester player would have got it third time around. Makes it even sweeter somehow...

Silver 10, I'm sorry to hear you've had bad news.

I spent last night Skyping with a Maltese friend who had a 21 year old friend killed on Saturday night in a motorbike accident. I felt guilty even mentioning our match but she wanted to hear about my day so I sent her the Sky Sports clip and it raised a smile, at least.

Very sorry to hear you've had bad news Silver 10 - I hope things get better soon mate, I really do.

Does anyone know where I can watch all the goals/highlights from the match yesterday?

Also, Deeney scored earlier in the game yet it was ruled out for offside, though he looked onside to me (though I was watching the dodgiest little river in the world..)

I'd be much obliged if someone can provide a link.

The Deeney offside is on the extended highlights on Watford Player if you have access to that.

Sorry to hear about those of you with bad news. I hope that the good feelings of yesterday raised your spirits for a bit, not to forget those you've lost, but to smile about the future whilst remembering them.

Nope, sorry, I don't. Was he actually offside? Was Wood onside as well as some of the Leicester fans are claiming?

    GoingDown "The Stability"

Troy was marginally offside. It was a ludicrously late call, but the right one.

The Wood one, he probably wasn't. But the cameras at the Vic are at an angle for those replays so you can't really judge the 'lean' of the forward.

Both were tight but ultimately were the correct decision IMO. As Going Down says the Deeney flag was really late.

I don't have much to add to what's already been said apart from that's why we go to football. That's why we've stuck with the club through the tough times, daft owners, crap managers, even crapper players, embarrassing defeats. It's those 20 seconds that make years of disappointment disappear. A sheer lose your **** mental moment that we'll talk about forever. Thanks to modern technology if you ever feel down in the future you can comeback and relive those final moments to make you smile again. Epic.

But moogling you were demanding he be hauled off in chains on Thursday night....... ;) It's an old cliche but very pertinent. Form is temporary class is permanent. Udinese paid £3.5M for a reason. That goal is something few strikers can execute accurately but he knew exactly where Schmeichel and the far post was.

Absolutely delighted for Matej although with a global audience watching that will have once again alerted scouts of other clubs in Europe to him. Hopefully Udinese allow him to remain here if we do go up as he, Deeney and the midfield can all do a job in the PL.

Perhaps not with the top third of the table but certainly the mid and bottom third sides.

Deeney was just offside. Wood I think was in line and perhaps should have had the benefit of the doubt. Some officials give that and others do not. The penalty claims for a handball though were nonsensical as were the diving histrionics of Wood and Nugget.

He was getting into the right positions though Moogling. Working hard and putting the effort in. And that generally is how strikers work themselves out of a rut. Perseverance. A goal and the confidence returns and now he'll be flying again and believe he can do anything again.

If he had not been getting into goal scoring positions then that would be a worry. And at last he started to play off the last defender. In any case his presence alone makes opposition defences sit deeper and afford our midfield more space infront.

His scoop finish against Nottingham Forest away (Messi like in it's coolness and ease of execution), the flying kick finish against Huddersfield, this goal are the hallmark of a top, top class striker.

What a season eh ? Three goals of the absolute top drawer that would deserve to be goals of the Championship. Vydra versus Leicester, Chalobah versus Leicester and Battochio versus Huddersfield.

Top class. He has time on the ball like Marco and does everything with great ease. Read the game superbly. Future libero ? Good at taking the ball forward and a threat in the opposition penalty area as well. Erik Hamren surely will recall him to the Swedish team for their summer games.

Deeney made such a massive difference for you yesterday. I had it in my mind that he is just a battering ram, one of those slightly unfashionable strikers that isn't a massive goal threat but brings others into play. Whilst he does that, his movement is excellent and was precisely what you were missing in the first leg.

Judging by how Holt and Lambert have moved up through the leagues, like Deeney, and adapted to the Prem, I think he'll do very well for you should you be up there next season.

After having watched this a fair few times...... We have Nostradmus as a celebrity fan, who is it that slaps Nugent on the head ? Someone decides to return Schmeichel's kick out back to him.......And why is that lady fan hopping onto the pitch.Hop hoppity hop. :]]

Well I apologize. That was unnecessary. But why were the seats ripped up in your section in the Vic Road end ? That's not really exemplary behaviour is it ? Apparently many Nottingham Forest fans were also not too pleased by some of your travelling supporters antics on the last week of the regular season either.

Highlights of the win yesterday with Portuguese commentary I think. Battochio was dreadfully unlucky with his dancing feet.

Yeah that was hilarious as was doing the same when you were getting on your coaches.

I've never seen so many ugly, angry, tearful men in such a concentrated area in all my life.

Last May it was a nightmare Filbert. We were just looking to survive, sell another player (we'd just sold Mariappa in January) and then the Fairy Godmother came along in the form of the Pozzo family and saved us from Baron Hardup (Lawrence Bassini).

We could scarce have dreamed of seeing these sort of players here. Yes we used a loophole but every other club could also have used international loans as season transfers. As a fan of passing on the deck, movement off the ball football I am delighted and suitably impressed by the standard acheived by Zola and his staff.

Even the retained players like Hogg, Deeney for example have also benefited from the new coaching regime. It's a slight shame someone like Hoban is out , one of our Academy boys as he is also very comfortable on the ball coming out defence which is a sign of good technically able and confident player.

Has this been posted ? Jon Marks, Nicky Wright and Professor Payne go temporarily incoherent.....

  35. I slated Deeney back in Aug and couldn't believe he would ever adapt to a passing game. I am over the moon to have been proved utterly and completely wrong.
