It is indeed a real place. It's on Anglesey (Yns Mon). The name was made up when the railway arrived, so the enormously long station sign would be a tourist attraction for English visitors. The name roughly translates as follows: Llanfair: Little Church (The original name) pwllgwyngyll (porth gwing geth) - Let's get the English gogerych (go gare eth) - to go there chwyrndrobwll (herwyn drob oth) - and spend money llantysilio (hlanti silio) - aren't they silly gogogoch (go go goch) - ha ha ha!
It does mean that we're seeing young players like Hungbo and Morris making it into the matchday squad which is a good thing.
Yes I thought Hungbo did ok in his little cameo away to Stoke, although always nice to come on when your team is 4 goals ahead!
Ngakia, Troost-Ekong, Cleverley, Manaj, Joao Pedro, Cathcart, Dele-Bashiru, Kalu, Hause. The injury list looks like a decent team.
Certainly is and they have a football team. Least popular fan there is the one who shouts “give me an L”!
I live about 10 miles from this village. Lanfair PG to the locals. My dentist is there so it's full of fun. It's got a commercial mini-mall called Pringles, which is visited by foreign coach trips. It sells over priced tourist tatt. It has a Co-Op supermarket. I broke my wrist playing football there in an under 14's semi final, I cried like a total pusssey.
Good sign that Hause has gone from 'only fit enough for the bench' to 'out entirely' in the space of three days and no minutes of competitive football Our medical boys are earning their crust once again (as sleeper agents for the scummers).
A bit surprised not to see Louza start ahead of Asprilla. Aside from that it's as expected really. Though we'd better not get any injuries to our defence during the match as Pollock and Morris aren't up to it.
LOL. Gotta be the funniest post I’ve read this year, and supporting this team humour is always welcome!
I watched a documentary the other night on Netflix or Prime called Tosh. It was obviously about John Toshak, but predominantly focused on the rise of Swansea City. It was really interesting and brought back some lovely memories of how football used to be. Tosh is bit of a legend and came across really well. Leighton James was on the programme too. He's a real character and told a couple of good stories. It's well worth a watch.
How come every time we have ball in defence there's a huge chasm up to Kayembe and choudhary?? Neither ever drop in to receive a short ball.... Then it's a hopeful punt...!!!
I want to know what coaching bilic has done recently because we look like our usual sloths in our own half and clueless passing it out... What exactly are our DMs doing hanging about near the half way line.???
Pretty awful first half, apart from the goal. How can a team which has just won 4-0 start in such a slow and limp fashion?
Loved the microphone picking up someone in the upper GT giving Gino a tongue lashing when Gasper went down injured about not signing a rb!
I'm watching on red button and I can't believe what I'm seeing. We only look interested in their final third - dozey as f**k in our own half...
Sloppy. No urgency. Lack of investment in the defence showing so clearly now. Swansea seem a team. Good luck to Bilic trying to forge one here with this collection of individuals. Kamara has NO right foot does he? Hapless ref but goodness me how lame we are.
