A lot of them are 'uh oh, this is hard, best pull up and take a break' injuries I reckon. Known in the trade as 'a Kiko' I believe.
Last night was back to reality after a seemingly convincing drubbing of Stoke, but the 4-0 is an indication of Stoke being dreadful. So much sideways and backwards passing it’s incredible, the only time a forward ball is played is when it’s hoofed upfield. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I genuinely think Bilic won’t be here come Christmas. Our owners do not have the patience. Asprilla is going to be good but he’s 18 years old starting for a team that *should* be challenging for the title, at the very least the top 6. He shouldn’t be starting every game, he’s too raw. Rumours circulating on Twitter that Louza allegedly spat at a Swansea player…. Not sure on that one to be honest
The club have long bleated on about the 'leadership group' - and it consisted of Kabasele, Cathcart, Foster and Cleverley. It's not just a failure of not recruiting leaders - it's a totally wrong opinion of the strength of leadership attributes of the players that they have put into the role already.
Having dwelled on it manager clearly wants us to play out from the back , yesterday the players seemed so scared of not plying out from the back that they were picking out stupid passes rather than hoofing it up field , leading to many errors and a lot of pressure. I am not sure that our back 4 are good enough to play that game, hopefully the can learn it quickly. we sort of looked better when louza came on but then he lost his cool and started kicking people randomly , however probably needs to start asap. when we did hoof it into the Swansea half we were causing lots of problems , we seem to be very similar to Swansea , both trying to play out from the back, both have poor defences, both able to be a threat up front but lacking quality in the box. The main difference between them and us last night was their defence knew when to just hoof it out of danger. Kamara great in the correct position , literally terrible in the wrong position , can’t we put somebody else in the wrong position so he can stay in the right place. Sarr really is only good when the team are playing well, was a great goal though, At this level Sema is really pretty good , if we can get the ball up to him he normally manages to get up the pitch and get a cross it , can’t ask a lot more than that. Do we have have any defence left or are they all now injured
Louza needs to play deeper otherwise we may as well play Bayo alongside Davis and hoof it long. Watching Kayembe and Choudhury try and progress the ball is so painful I ended up laughing at it last night.
The hilarious thing is that we didn't even have our makeshift RBs as Cathcart and WTE were injured meaning we couldn't even play Kabasele there lol
Yes Bunny! I do believe you're right! Fabulous woman,I'd put her straight in the team. She'd frighten the life out of the opposition with her anatomy charts!
Before the game I summed up our team to my Swansea supporting mate as: Good in attack, average midfielders, poor defence. No real plan of how we'll score except by bits of quality from our better players. That's basically how it went. The contrast with our play and theirs was stark. They have a system, they know their roles, they can control a game. They didn't need to do anything outstanding to beat us. And they probably won't even make the playoffs.
Thiago, Young, Ronaldo, Milner, Moutinho, Vardy, Evans, Lallana, Aubameyang, Neto, Mee, Tomkins, Costa, Coleman all seem to cope relatively injury free and are all over 33 and playing at a higher level. The fact we have so many players injured suggests that apart from having an old squad, our fitness and conditioning coach is crap and the medical team are cheap and inadequate.
When a manager moves on does the F&C coach move on to ? If so , could this be a reason for so many injuries ? Or are F&C coaches and their methods much of the same ? Does anyone know ?
