I don't disagree with any of this. The alternative is some stability in midfield and our attackers being easy to nullify. Our squad is awful considering we've spent 6 of the last 7 years in the Premier League. We're talking about Burnley ffs, not prime Barcelona
This will be an interesting match. Kompany seems to favour a 4-4-2 which transitions when they attack, they are also a high possession team (unlike Dyche's Burnley). They had 70% plus against Lootown but didn't really show a huge amount for it. We could play the 3-4-3 formation again for this and hit then on the break when the full-backs move up, could allow Dennis and Sarr some opportunities. Hopefully we get to give a debut to Hamza to help break up their play. I'm going with a 1-1 draw.
Please dont play Dennis, its quite obvious he doesnt want to be here and isnt putting a shift in. 352 with Kamara on the left and Gaspar on the right, would stil prefer Gaspar at RCB but Ngakia doesnt seem to be part of Edwards plans. Would like to have TDB in the middle with Gosling and Kayembe just to add some young legs. Pedro and Sarr up top should be able to beat most Champo defences.
We’ll, that certainly wasn’t the case against Sheff U. I tend to think he is playing for himself, as he has done for much of his time at Watford, so when things aren’t going his way, as at West Brom, he seems to stop bothering.
Surely the best way to get a move is to put in stellar performances? Neither Sarr or Dennis can say that they are not being put in the shop window by the club (although as a forward you do rely on service from others).
So if Sarr is truly close to a move (can't be imminent as he was training today), take him out for another midfielder?
Hamza - 'can't wait to meet you on Friday night'. Fingers crossed that's on the pitch rather than from the stands.
Good preview, thanks! I also think we'll lose, but Burnley won't hoof it. I love the way you also threw in a deliberate bonus for the grammar pedants on here. "Would have liked" What do I win?
I am at the Proms tonight. Can confirm that Cleverley is not playing. Perhaps being saved for Friday night?
When fit maybe ? Out for a while with a knee injury . Burnley fans hoping the Sarr /Dennis rumours are true .
How many violins did Madness use then ? Nice to hear from you RD. Note I removed your trademark double-line spacing in the quote, sorry.
Ah, good to see you back. Proms will come naturally with all the flag waving experience! Great night out, enjoy. Nothing wrong with double line spacing!
I thought I saw him as second violin for the Mahler Chamber Orchestra on Sunday. I knew it was him. He couldn't keep up with Mozart!
Whoa whoa whoa!!! You can't just pop up again like something out of an errant toaster and expect everything to be 'BAU'!!! This isn't Sabbatical United, Chum. That aside, if you are the original RD, it is indeed good to have you back.
A bit off topic, but when we played Burnley in the FA Cup when Stephen Glass scored (yeah, going back a bit), did the ball at some point end up on a roof? Either one of the old stands or something like that? I only ask because I am certain it happened in that game but cannot actually remember if it was that actual game.
Not that I recall but I can only remember fragments of games. The walk out after the 4-0 v Dull for promotion,George Reilly's goal at VP and Taylor's miss at Wembley. John Newman's hat going into the air after Rostron's screamer v Villa. Issa being dropped from the stretcher, Cameron hurling an impressive number of obscenities at some poor Cobblers player. Not much for forty five plus years!
