My money is on 2-4-2-2 with Bachmann at RWB and Gaspar and Clevs up front. Sarr in CM and not allowed over halfway to maximize his goal threat.
Either a back 4 and Edwards has had to give up on how he wants to play already. Or Kamara still at RWB and Gaspar clearly not seen as viable for that role. In which case why didn’t we offer Laird more game time to get that done?!
Guy from ESSO reckons the midfield will be Dux, Gino and Bayat. They want to prove we have an excellent midfield and are happy to let their football do the talking for once.

If it's still Kamara at RWB that is truly a complete and utter shambles. Three games into the season and still having him playing there is completely unacceptable.
I was reliably informed earlier in the summer that Edwards doesn't use wingers and it's not sensible or needed whatsoever to have any in the squad in case of a change of system.
Either Rob is playing 433 with round pegs in round holes, showing he's tactically flexible and non dogmatic about his formation and picking the best option based on the players available OR its 532 and he's playing our most dangerous attacker and our best defender out of position. Will be very interesting to see which it is!! Some vaguely ITK goons seem to think its a formation change, including Leventhal who is attending the game looking like a low level mafia underling. If true it tells you everything you need to know about Gaspar, good player but not what Edwards wanted. I doubt he'll get another wing back.
For me it shows that Edwards is stubborn. Pretty much all of our players are better suited for 4 at the back,yet he continues to play with 5. It didn't work quite well with Ivic, and it certainly didn't work so far this season, especially in the previous match.
Tbf, you have to have your identity as a manager, would I want someone to completely change his setup after one bad game?
Still a few players shoehorned in, but we do have an extra man in midfield now, expecting a far better performance than Monday
Btw, I’m not having anybody put this on Edwards. He came here with a clear style, and a remit to build something. We were told by Dux he’d be backed completely, and so far, that’s proven to be ********. If RE can’t play the formation he spent all summer working on, because he’s not been given the players he needs, it’s entirely on the board.
You do need to have identity, but you should be able to tweak your formation. Guardiola played some matches with 5 atb. You should be able to be flexible with your formation and pick whichever one suits the players at your disposal the best and not the other wat around.
Given how the latter stages of the Champions League make Pep's brain melt on a yearly basis through his tinkering, maybe Pep isn't the best example to use!
Oh dear, worn out Cleverley and indecisive/slow Cathcart are playing. We will do well to avoid a defeat. Does Edwards know what he is doing or does he have no other options? We don't have any money, but £15m sitting on the bench or not featured at all. Loan deals and freebies only from now on.
