If between now and the end of the season we started to play attractive football AND gained 14 points from 11 games to give us the same as last year I would be more prepared to put up with Maz starting next year as manager. I cannot see that happening though

Ladies and gentleman...welcome to the Holy Grail known as the Premier League where clubs spend an annual amount on transfers that would put a dent into ending world hunger on very mediocre players who are paid more than the US President to play out often mundane and tediously boring games to the masses who rarely get entertained and purely go out of some idiotic loyalty to a club that doesn't give a toss

Idiots. Maybe they should have looked at teams like Doncaster, Dover and Grampus Eight and realised how far they'd come.

  11. Not wrong. Just that you seem to be judging a horses potential in the Derby based on its performance giving Donkey rides under Clacton pier.

We didn't sit back in the same way as we did against the 'Ammers. They (Saints) were just better in midfield than us.

  13. The point I'm making is we played decent football in the champ and it's all gone in the bin to be replaced by hoof.

Muff developed a playing style they have kept with it in the prem, bought in better players but kept true to the style. Plenty of other examples over the years.

We don't have a midfield as we bypass it.

We are flirting with relegation. Spurs Man City Liverpool Chelsea and Everton all to come and we are playing continuous lump ball.
As it stands we will struggle to beat those below us, that is the reality, that is the level we are at. Dont tart this tosh up into something it isnt, please....

I am currently watching MotD2extra. It usually has a good panel. Today is no exception. However, all they ever discuss is the seven 'big boys' trials and tribulations. So why don't they just call it 'Rich Boys and Gloryhunters Chat Show' instead?

Irrelevant where Palace are now. Fact is bottom 3 are 9 points behind and that's all that counts.

I can take any tactics as long as the players show the right attitude and passion.

They rarely do at the moment about once a month if we are lucky. Even under Bassett you couldn't fault the player's work rate.

Too many of our players are cheating us week in week out. If they can't be ar5ed neither can I.

Are the bookies watching through yellow tinted glasses? 14-1 8th favourites for relegation as it stands. Presumably you've lumped on?

Worse odds than we were to beat Arsenal.

Relegation is irrelevant anyway. All we want is players and a manager who aren't cheating us for a living.

    Knight GT Predictor extraordinaire 2013/14

Yes I do. One place above the bottom 3 does not get relegated so their points total is irrelevant. We are 9 points above the bottom 3. For us to go down they have to average a point a game something they have failed to do quite easily in the previous 27 games.

Get a grip, all of you. If you want perfect football every week go and support one of the big clubs because you're utterly deluded if you expect that at Watford. You're supporting the wrong team.

    We won't get relegated.

Walter is going nowhere except hopefully to his English lessons.

I'm resigned to the fact for the remainder of the season we will play a lot of uninspiring football but will pick up some points to stay in the EPL with maybe a good performance or two where it may be claimed we have 'turned the corner' again ( but we won't have).

I am not convinced by Walter, his tactics, team selection, constant blame game. Sometimes I think he gets muddled thinking and doesn't make tactical changes in the game soon enough or at all. I'm not convinced he is inspiring the players. I would love to know what Deeney really thinks of him.
He has not been helped by injuries to key players and lack of form of our strikers early on, but I just remain unconvinced.

I hope he has enough influence with the panel to bring in the right players and we get our playmakers back from injury and we have decent backups next season.

It will be next season's football that personally I will judge WM on.
If it's more of the same of what I am seeing now, my passion for the club will be questioned.

To put a philosophical slant on it, life with a wife/partner and the same job and routine can become like an old slipper - comfortable but uninspiring, and sometimes not appreciating what we actually have.
Football and my beloved WFC can be escapism from a sometimes seemingly humdrum life.
But that escapism is supposed to involve excitement.
At the moment it's like putting on another pair of comfortable slippers - humdrum and generally uninspiring.

After the summer, I hope my excitement and connection comes back with a bang and Walter comes back with some (less angry) passion, a proper game plan and strategy and adaptable tactics and speaking confident English so he can connect with the fans. (And players!).
We've stagnated this season. Walter says his remit was to not get relegated. Barring a disaster, it will be Job Done, but not convincingly.
I'm assuming his remit next season will be top half of the table. So I hope he inspires some watchable exciting football to achieve that goal.

For me, WM this season is 'benefit of the doubt'.
Next season, please Walter give me back some of the passion and excitement.

    ---Diatribe Ends---

(And, fellow Hornets, pls don't tell me missus about the humdrum slippers and escapism connecting with an exciting bang)!

But it was Britos who was 2 yards behind the rest of the defence playing Gabiadini on side and then not reacting.

You said relegation battle not relegation - the side one place above relegation is in a relegation battle and my point is we are getting ever closer to that if we are not careful.
I do not expect us to be relegated but a run of defeats for us is not so hard to imagine and some of those bottom sides are suddenly winning - Leicester, Swansea and Palace were all a long way off us a couple of matches ago. It does not pay to be complacent.

I don't think we have anything to lose this season. I know the last couple of games have been uninspiring, but I believe we will be fine in terms of remaining in this division.

Once the season's over, we can piece everything together. Walter will have had a year to work on his English privately, get to know English football a bit better, get to know the club and the players and work on how to communicate with them, and review what worked and what didn't. Ideally, his season of experience of the Premier League will give him a better idea of how to approach each game, and then player recruitment over the Summer will be more effective.

I think the first 10-12 games of next season will be telling. If Gino's estimation of Walter is as high is we believe, then hopefully we should see some real positives. Hopefully.

Come on. The ball was dropped at Gabbiadini's feet like it had been gift wrapped. Your point about the offside is a fair one but once it's happened there's no defender on earth who could react to stop the striker tapping it in.

From what I've seen from Berghuis this season, i'm not convinced he is the answer. He plays on the right and cuts inside nearly every time. Is he (at age 25) good enough for the Premier league? From a business point of view, should get a reasonable fee if we don't keephim

Edit . didn't se Kelsos before posting.

If he had concentrated on getting to the rebound instead of waving his arm in the air for offside, then he would have had a chance.
