I think that you are probably right. I don't think that Spurs fans would be happy if they sold Gareth Bale and spend a large sum of money on a pleyer who has only proved himself at championship level especialy considering they have been linked with the likes of David Villa.

To be honest, it is down to the Pozzo family to accept a bid which they think is reasonable. Based on the 2nd half of his season, they will price him out of a move, which in the long run could go both ways; another season here under Zola aids his development/another season here gets bored or a big club comes in, plays every week and is scoring/sits on a bench or doesn't make a matchday squad. The Pozzos will do everything they can to keep him here I think. The Pozzos see football talent/development = £££, his agent sees big name club = £££, even if his client isn't playing.

Do you reckon Vydra himself is pretty keen to stay and its just the agent kicking up a fuss probably to make more money or does he want to go elsewhere?

Murray of palace scored more goals and in far more games than Vydra did. Most of Vydra's goals were doubles, and 2 goals(In 1 game) in his last 14 games does not make good reading at all,and played with his head down and was out of sorts.A class player would take the bull by the horns and make things happen. He was poor for the last quarter of the season.

Hard to tell as Vydra himself hasn't said anything to confirm/dispute the claims. The agent has said he'll stay in January, now "can't imagine" him playing in the championship next season. On the other hand, the Pozzo family are claiming he is staying.

Btw, I think Vydra will go on to play for one of the best sides in the world, I really think he's that good.

Where's the gif of him doing **** all for a 1/3 of the season? Great player at this level and we've been lucky to be able to watch someone like him for a season but certainly not irreplaceable. I'd have 'Nando in the team ahead of him every day of the week.

I think there is too much negativity shown toward Matej Vydra by some of our fans, yes it is true that he did not perform that great in the last couple of months of the season but lets not forget that he didn't even play a full game in the previous season not to mention he's a 20 year old in a new country playing in a new league and he couldn't even speak English yet he managed to score 22 goals for us and win the championship player of the season. I think that if he is fully fit next season then he could be even better !

Murray scores goals and as good as he is at that that's pretty much all he does.

Vydra's all round game sh*ts all over Murray's.

I think he could go all the way to the top..... and for all those who said oh well it's no disaster we missed out on promotion this year losing Vydra and could be one of the consequences

He's only just turned 21, will only get better and his career has already been plagued by serious injuries.

I think we can let him off for only scoring 22 goals in a season and having a dip in form for a couple of months.

Totally agree, he's only young and will improve. I'm just saying that none of us had even heard of him a year ago and I don't think he's irreplaceable. If he goes, it's not a disaster.

It's not negativity it is disappointment that for the last 3 months he was a passenger in the side.Zola should have taken him out of the side and picked Fessi, also remember Almunia's comments that he was disappointed with his efforts in training, which points out that he was not giving 100% which in turn had an effect on his form in the side.I still do not think he deserved the CCC player of the year,Murray IMO was far more consistant, scored more goals, and in more games.

I also think that Vydra is injury prone due to the serious injury he had,and due to these silly international friendlies will not have a proper rest before the season starts again. There was also rumours that he can't settle here and only has pudil to rely on for conversation and to help him out, hence he moved in with him and now lives next door to him,he is very isolated without pudil.

So going to a big premier league club and being thrust firmly into the spotlight isn't going to help him.

In the London evening standard Vydra's agent has said that Matej is unlikely to return to Watford because he no longer wants to play in the championship!

What big prem club is he going to,because it is all speculation, the pozzo's have already said he is staying with us,there is feck all his agent can do about it.it's the Pozzo's that pay his wages, the agent can only tell him not to sign a contract, then vydra can do what he wants when it runs out.The club/pozzo's should have sorted this situation out 6 months ago,to only have a year left to run is bloody madness, transfer fee's will be peanuts to what they could of got if he had signed a new contract. This agent is going to hold the pozzo's to ransom.

If he wants to go he can f**k off, said it about every other player who wanted to do one in the past, same applies to Vydra.

We certainly can. But those sparkling few months tell one story, and the dull ones tell another; but which is the real magic Matty? Is he a Theo Walcott, or a Jermaine Pennant. A Tom Cleverley or a Nick Barmby? Time will tell, but at the moment, I am not convinced either way.

Absolutely. Wouldn't stand in the way of anyone that didn't want to play for the club, and would view them in a lesser light than their more willing colleagues. That's the privilege of being a fan, though is poses a more difficult issue for a manger or a chairman.

Don't wish them any harm, but they really should be somewhere else if that is what they want.

He's far more talented than any of these, I genuinely believe he could develop into an RVP and he too had a long barren spell without scoring

We could certainly do with getting this resolved as soon as - if he signs, great...if he doesn't we need time to bring someone else in.
Personally, I think he could be the best forward I've ever seen in a Watford shirt - and I never thought anyone could be better than Mighty Mo.

The days of losing our best players for **** all money are over. Selling players is how the Pozzos have made Udinese so successful and we wouldn't be where we are without their philosophy.

Didn't mention money. And didn't question the Pozzo philosophy. Vydra was a very large part of this season's success and once he hit form the playing style and selection were largely built around him (hence the understandable frustration over the exclusion of Forestieri) , so losing Vydra would inevitably mean rejigging the tactics and personnel. That's the bummer. The fact that it could be brought about by an agent forcing a move that would not even benefit the player in the short (and probably medium ) term makes it more frustrating. As good as the Pozzo network is, it would be a miracle to find another player so well suited to the championship sneaking under the radar.
