All very exciting that at least there is a rumour that the offer is on the table but will it go down to wire as they'll be waiting for other offers?

 

Been offered a 5 year deal worth 8k a week apparently, doesn't sound like much. Maybe there are add ons and bonuses.

 

Well now the world knows what udinese/us are offering him (which isn't a lot) then we are about to witness a race for an otter.

 

Or we are double bluffing everyone!

 

His agent will be working overtime now, trying to get him the best move. Sadly, his agent seems like he likes to talk a big game. The story has changed a number of times. I hoping he does stay hopefully he'll listen to the Pozzo family's offer and genuinely think about. I also think that if Pudil stays then that will boost chances.

 

Purely speculation but the 5 year deal is probably likely to include a wage rise if we get promoted, or some sort of potential release clause if we don't.

At least he is out for the Czech Republic game vs Italy, otherwise I think half the crowd would be scouts.

 

The relationship the Pozzo family have with agents is quite unique and built on years of trusts. I guarantee his agent wont be hawking him around to every tin pot club in the bottom half of the premiership (like when Sordell went to Bolton) , its not in the agents long term interest

 

He won't be, no but the guy likes to talk and has done so on numerous occassions.

 

The great thing about this offer is that is a 5 YEAR DEAL, going elsewhere will more than likely only hand him (and his agent) a 2-3 year deal.

 

It's pretty obvious Vydra's for sale at anything over £15m.

This is a fair deal to keep him comfortable whilst his agent gets to work.

Also means the pozzo's can bank the income against Watford, and use it to pay for the other transfers: Abdi, Battochio etc so the money will eventually end up at Udinese by a roundabout route.

If he isn't sold this summer there will be enough goal, appearance and promotion bonus's in there to keep him and his agent quite happy.



As I've said before... don't get too attached to any player

 

I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a bidding war for his signature in the summer. Spurs have been sniffing around and Arsenal rumoured.

If Udinese/Pozzo got £15m+ for the lad, I reckon that's good business.

Also, it all depends upon Vydra himself (as well as his agent as already mentioned) he is still young and would be pretty much guaranteed First Team football here and there's a good chance of Prem football at some point in the future - that's the selling point to getting him signed permanently.

 

All players want is more money for their work. Just like all of us.

He wont be here next season.

 

I think "The Pozzo's" are more likely to sell Troy Deeney than Vydra this Summer, unless a really silly offer comes in for MV!!!

TD is at his peak and MV isn't, and we all know how "The Pozzo Plan" works, sell at the players peak value, and there is lot more money to be made out of Vydra yet!!!

 

Deenery is only 24/25 ...

I'd say most strikers hit their peak between 26-30, especialy physical ones like him

 

I stand corrected, physically you are probably right; but I meant at his peak in monetary value, which I think is likely to be the case, though I could be wrong, he may get even better and therefore be worth even more?

 

Lets hope its 25 next season, then a cheeky 30 in the prem. off to Barcelona for 36.5m with extra's....

 

How you can deduce that so definitively with all the evidence weighing strongly against it is remarkable. Need a bit of research on how the Pozzos do business.

 

Personally if it came between a choice of Vydra over Deeney I would keep Troy. Another new striker to the Championship will find it easier to play alongside Deeney than Vydra as his work rate and physicality would take the pressure off them until they found their feet.

 

8k a week is derisory for him.

He could easily quadruple that. If my employer tried preventing me from leaving for a job that paid 4 times as much I'd tell them where to go and quit.

 

Have you see Udinese's payroll? Top earner €30k, Di Natale. Bonuses, a trustworthy relationship and the promise to get them a big move for big money means players are happy to stay. I think he'll be offered more than that anyway, about 12-15k, which should be enough. It's no coincidence players agree to what appear basic salaries and stay though...

 

I wouldn't get out of bed for £8k a week.

I can't copy and paste where I am, and I don't know if it's been mentioned but on the Udinese Blog link, mentioned in #21, there are links to other articles, one of which is about Pudil who has apparantly confirms via twitter that he'll do everything to stay with us as he loves everything about the Club, town, fans, etc and also confirms Vydra is staying.

Also, interstingly, it says that the football league demand to know who is leaving the club today, so expect some official club announcements later maybe?

 

Not our player officially and he is more than good enough for top flight football in England, Germany, Spain or Italy. If he wants to play in a bigger league good luck to him I say.

Must be his dip in form. But yay! Hopefully this isn't all made up but since it's coming from the Pozzos then it MUST be true

 

and not a poorly written article stating we'll only have 14 players for once!

 

its on the WO as well, it will be interesting to see if he signs the deal with us, or udinese and come back on loan

 

It is possible there will not be any club announcements, as apparently we only have to inform the FL, we do not have to go public.

 

A quote from the Observer article is:-

"Watford must inform the Football League of who will be released this summer by the end of today (Friday), although the club do not have to release the information to the wider public."

Wow, I didn't know that. How can that be, prior to knowing who may be bought or sold later this summer?

 

Just because they inform the FL, doesn't mean they inform anyone else so I wouldn't get your hopes up.
