Me too, but I only live 20 miles away. I've got big respect/concerns about the mental stability of anyone who travels up from Watford for this game though...
It is negative that is correct. However in terms of what we prioritise THIS season, without a win and bottom of the table is different to a "normal season." When you are this far down you tend to get injuries and it seems to take longer for players to come back. Whether we like it or not players do tire between games. Arguably for our immediate and medium term future, in terms of winning a cup, being in the prem (with the money and prestige to attract players) gives us a better chance OVER the next few years than going all out in a very bad season. Id prioritise staying up, and then maybe the FA CUP, given its more prestigious than the league cup. And Id agree on a mixed team, Id keep the flakey players (we all know who they are) away from it though
What would be the point in trying to win the cup when we know we’ll get absolutely ruined in the final (again). We’re struggling against teams as bad as us in the Prem so I can’t see the club hierarchy prioritising cup competitions. I thought the end of last season was bad, but that on top of relegation would be pretty horrendous
Id swap in one of the younger keepers. Id try some youth or up and coming defenders over prodl. Id avoid success
I wasn't really talking about priorities but I fail to see why we can't make every effort to win every game by utilising the full strength of the squad. That's what every team in the PL seem to do. We only play 38 league games whereas the other 72 in the lower three leagues already play 46. And they enter both cup competitions earlier too. I really don't see the need to have an entirely different cup team given that mid-week fixtures are a rarity. By all means play a 'hybrid team' though to keep the entire squad happy, to give a chance to youth and those knocking on the 'first team' door, to give another chance to some who might have fallen from grace a bit and include a couple of 'stalwarts' who are perfectly capable of playing two games in a week now and again. We regularly complain that we don't see enough football in the PL and about the lack of midweek fixtures. And we don't have the 'Europe problem' of last season's top seven.
If 3CR isn't your cup of tea then the game is on Talksport.. https://talksport.com/football/efl-cup/match/2019-10-29/everton-v-watford/
We've avoided success in every league match this season, and I'm confident that can be carried forward in the Milk Cup.

I hope Prodl can last the 90. he was pretty good in the one point five games he has played so far, wouldn't mind him starting against Lampard's Elite. Nice to see Quina again. Doesn't matter if he plays a blinder, he won't be picked for Saturday night's game. Folquier? Really QSF? He obviously didn't see him "pass" the ball straight out of play at the weekend. Mind you, what other choice have we? Is Deeney there? Has he found the concourse yet?
It must be hard - being the main dude of a forum who are bottom of the league, although I solute you my good sir. It's bad enough going to the games, playing like sh!te, then coming back on here to moderate the negative comments and personal insults that get thrown around out of anger and spite. You're a brave man, as are all the Mods to be fair.
Good to see Chalobah, Quina and Gray. Hideous to see Mapps, Gomes and Kiko, though I can accept the latter being given a chance to play his way out of the disgusting form he’s in and I’d rather not risk Janmaat picking up a knock in a pointless game. Especially hideous to see Gomes, especially with Bachmann on the bench. Sickening. Hope Dalby gets a chance.
An hour gone at goodison park and 5 live in a break in play from Burton 3 - 5 Leicester go for an update. "Nothing happening here, looks like both teams at playing for penalties. Nil nil. Andre Gray has just been replaced by Janmaat".
I'm fine with us resting as many first team players as possible for this cup nonsense. Pereyra should have been given a rest as well.
That’s a shame Quina was doing well. Even when in our final third he was winning the ball and looking forward all the time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well that does pretty much sum up the game so far except Quina was replaced by Docoure so another injury .
Not a lot in it at the half, Everton slightly stronger and a few wayward passes in final third helping the orns out. Game started to become a bit stretched last 5 mins and we started to get numbers in our counter attacks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pereyra is so frustrating. Has no pace or strength at all. Wasted in his role because he checks back every time which slows us down or he losses the ball. Deulofeu's pace needed to start stretching them. Chalobah played well minus one shocking error which nearly cost us a goal. Prodl a rock! Shame for Quina, hopefully just a precaution. Gray has battled well with little support or service. All in all, a good performance defensively, just very blunt and disjointed up front.
Probably be like that for the rest of the season unless we find a striker or two to to score goals ! I mean would we score enough penalties to win if it goes to a shoot out ?!
