If this is the only advertising we are going to get then there's no problem - if it helps to move the boards forward, and eases the financial strain on Admin then I'm all for it. And as Berserker intimated, if we can avoid the pop-ups that would be appreciated. In fact, I would not have noticed the ads if it were not for this thread. But then lots of things pass me by - for instance, I thought "Two girls one cup" was a film about a victorious beach-volleyball team...imagine my surprise
Hmm, these adverts could be better in my opinion. I know they only just got here, and you're probably still working on them etc but thought I would provide some feedback. The positioning is great, but some of the adverts have nothing to do with the threads. The biggest one should surely be the Football Manager section. I have clicked numerous amount of threads there, yet nothing has come up about the game its self or about anything to do with PCs. Also do different adverts bring in different revenue? For example if you have an advert for say computers, will this bring you more in than say an advert for gloves? If so, could it be worth bringing back the Computer Issues section? Good start though.
They may not have decided to advertise with the provider and hence there will be nothing to match to. See my post about Ferrets in the steam room, that worked pretty quickly. As far as we know yes. We don't want anyone to click on them simply to raise revenue as this false clicking is easily spotted but the financial loan/insurace type adds seem to pay more on the click throughs. Admin is planning to retire next year and emigrate to Bermuda with the proceeds.:]]
Unfortunately it is the google bot that decides which ads are specific to a thread and nothing within the coding of the website. Certain ads do pay more than others as you have mentioned and bringing back the computer issue's section might be a worthy Idea and something that needs to be discussed. good to see that most people are infavour of them
Seems to be very similar websites all the time, www.bot5.com and that UKshopping one. I have noticed on the vbookie threads that there are a few spread betting websites advertised, might be dangerous for us gamblers on here, PYA take note!
So what you're saying is that everytime someone says how s h1t Jordan stewart is we'll get an Andrex advert pop up? The word hoof is used often too.... I dread to think what horsey products we're going to see
Seems to be a pattern emerging already. Once a thread is created then the generic run of the mill ads show up. Once it's been analysed then relevant ads show. These seem to be slightly different day by day. Still taking notes.
I've had ads for finding 'Moose' on ebay and for safari's to Canada. Presume then that we all get different ones?
Just saw this one: Watford FC Get All The News From Vicarage Lane Follow Boothroyd and The Lads HornetsHeadlines.com WTF?
