Twitter is in absolute meltdown. Funniest thing I've seen in a while. Other supporters are going nuts. Watford just became the most hated club in the premiership. Reminding me of the good ol days when I read comments like "sign some English players" or "another local lad I see their signing." I love it. I hope Walter says yes to this deal just to rub it in their faces.

I have a worry that it's a bad indication if a player with apparent options would come here. Sort of like wouldn't join a club if it would have me as a member, but not.

According to the article, it is a matter of Mazzari deciding what formation we will play: 3-5-2, it seems, is not so well suited to Sofie-Anne, but if we go for 3-4-1-2 then the lad will work out just Boufal behind the front two, allegedly.

Reckon it's a club informed article with a 'make out it's Walter making the decision' line in it, to then be able to say we decided against pursuing it if Boufal chooses someone else. I reckon he's holding out to see if anyone else is interested before coming to us.

Which is exactly why they mention the throw-away line of "an equally exciting alternative target lined up to play in the more advanced midfield role of a 3-5-2 system". Any club that is run by a person with more than 2 brain cells would have 3 back-ups to their number one choice target for a certain position. Boufal has attracted a lot of interest from clubs bigger than us and is probably holding out for them; not to mention these clubs would also potentially have to pay more than us to get him, which will play right into Lille's hands as well.

I know nothing about this guys part from his YouTube video and FIFA 16 stats , which are very impressive btw.

He does genuinely seem to be courted by bigger clubs but guess we can offer him regular football and safer , less critical environment to develop as he is still young.

Maybe he is looking at the career path of Mahrez who went to Leicester at 23 but will probably be playing for top 4 club by this September .

There's not that much difference between having someone play behind the strikers or having an attacking midfielder in a 3-5-2, seems strange that they're suggesting we'll only be getting Boufal if we play a certain system which we'll change between regularly I'd imagine.
