Great extra evidence for RE being happy with the right back situation. Still, he said it, therefore everyone else is wrong despite the evidence in front of everybody's eyes.
This will be a real test of the squad, recruitment and Edwards, with a few key players out and away at a side who we'll hope to beat but have been playing quite well.
Kabasele usually is . Is he wearing gloves today as he was the only one with long sleeves last week when it was about 25/30c?
Played well for about 10 mins and scored (great finish from Vakoun). If we can sort our s*** out and put in a good second half we should blow them away. Got almost no faith that we will manage to do that though.
Another average verging on poor performance. Wont get autos with results like this against teams of this calibre - Last time in this league we stuck 4 past these chumps at their place for example. I like Edwards but he’ll be lucky to see out the season at this rate, our arrogant ownership expect comfortable top 2 and he won’t deliver it with this squad Well taken goal from Bayo and Davis looked very dangerous for 10 mins after coming on but then ran out of steam Kaba crap as always and Kamara injured leaving us without a left back and a RWB all in one go. Big well done yet again to our recruitment team
These are the sorts of matches we need to win. So a disappointing result. Our away form remains to be blunt terrible. Another slow start. Inexcusably poor defending from Kabasele. None of our defenders barring Cathcart to a degree can pass out of the back. Pedro sheer class as usual but with clowns around him has to be everywhere and not enough times in the most dangerous areas. Davis was mightily impressive. Hopefully he starts soon. Bayo great finish but you can see why he's not in the top bracket. Miscontrolled too many balls, lost too many balls and wasted another glorious chance from Pedro's dinked ball in. Kayembe was decent, Asprilla showed more in the second half but credit to him he did not go missing and hiding. Choudhry his usual self but not enough quality from deep. Kamara still wasted out right and Sema aside from his assist not great. RE needs to show more as a tactician and so does his staff. Corners were mightily disappointing again as were the free kicks. We showed what we can do after we scored. Completely dominant for ten or so minutes but failed to capitalize. Rotherham bang average side. Hard working but also masters of the tactical foul to break up play and then pretending to be injured just as we were getting on top to stop our rhythm. Lot more coaching needed. Bayo in particular needs to learn how to control the ball. He might end up being another Gray albeit less expensive. If he had that control and vision he'd be a tremendous player. Painfully thin in depth. Louza is sorely missed. As was Sarr.
Controlled the game in the second half but couldn’t break them down as they sat deeper and deeper. The time wasting for the last 15 was unbelievable. I wish we were capable of killing momentum like that.
Bossed the second half deserved to win. Bayo should've scored with the headed chance after scoring a decent goal in the first half. Awful start to the game again, manager needs to sort that out. On to the next one.
Slightly disappointed but haven't heard comms or seen. On the plus side another point earned from a losing position and good for Tapestry to score again. An even bigger positive,Wigan winning! Ah well.
Shooting ourselves in the foot again conceding early. Kabasele sh1te again. Great finish from Bayo but didn't offer much else. Davis had a few nice touches when he came on should be an asset when fully fit. Kamara at RWB is a crime. My overwhelming feeling is that the lack of intensity, urgency and speed of our play is making it comfortable for a large portion of the teams in this league. We're playing at a tempo that suits them and they can cope with, allows them to get organized behind the ball, which leads to us struggling to break them down with our lack of creativity in the squad.
Cathcart isn't exactly faultless, but this is, along with the obvious regular brainfarts from Kabasele, why I'd rather start him at RCB than Kabasele, I hope today was a message to Sierralta to buck his ideas up, and that going forward, we'll go with Hause, Sierralta and Cathcart (seen a few shouts for Gaspar, but I think that would be a bit too left-field)
Before the next game we need to find some old school Tango with some old school Tartrazine to get them flying out of the traps. Far too slow out of the blocks in thought and deed. I'm sure the pre-match message isn't don't move and don't shoot yourself in the foot.
Awful performance. Rotherham did their bit well, not their fault the ref allowed them to timewaste so much. Realistically we're above our station at the moment and look like a midtable side. Tactically suspect, can't keep a clean sheet, little intensity or patterns to our play. Even the 'results are all the matter' merchants can't seriously ignore we're having to work very hard for 90 minutes game in, game out to scrap one goal wins or draws. Compare that to Norwich coasting to 3-0 today. It'll catch up with us big time later in the season.
Didn't see them today, probably did improve considering they won 3-0, but it's annoying how they're pulling away from us considering they haven't played well this season!
We should have won it but could have lost it also. Get Davis and Hause match fit add in Louza and Sarr and we should look quite good but defensively we are still very shaky I feel, no leaders in that backline despite the experience of Kabs and Cathcart being there.
The only thing I'd say about this is that we still have a few really key players to come in, obviously we missed Sarr today, Davis was bright in his late cameo, Louza will improve us, and maybe Ngakia will too
Absolutely incredible we have to put up with him next season as well due to the absurd contract strategy of our owners.
Of course but if they're re-introduced into a misfiring team that I would say charitably is lacking confidence, what good is that? I do understand the idea that if only the guys who didn't play were playing we'd have done better - it's the football fans' curse - but the problems look deeper than that to me.
Ngakia will not improve our defence at all. He treats the ball like it's a grenade with the pin out. He should have been released in the summer. A point away from home against a team punching above their weight at the moment is not too bad.
