Correction- Skybet have taken relegation odds offline to recalculate. Don't be surprised if we don't feature when they go back up.
Relegation threatened team starring in relegation threatened team are terrible shock. Thats why we are safe.
Nice one Chelsea but still don’t feel bad about almost beating you at the Bridge and thumping you at the Vic. Good result for us of course as it’s a step closer to safety without playing. But I hope the lads don’t relax today knowing this result and get sonething on the road since November? It’s been that long since a win but we did draw at Stoke.
Your 5% probability estimate of relegation was likely off by a decimal place last weekend. You then indulge in a poke at the people who disagreed with you last week when Saints take the lead. Saints then lose. Whenever you post on this thread things seem to go against you.
Thank you Chelsea, though that is certainly not what I was going to say to you lot with less than 30mins to go against the Saints, there would have been a lot of asterisks in this post is all I can say
It's a matter of opinion and we'll never know what a fair % was. A 1 in 20 possibility sounded about right to me but I accept I was more pessimistic than the betting cos and most on here. Looked about right when saints were 2-0 up but it's more unlikely now that Soton need 3 wins from 5. I personally think Soton will be safe and HTFC will go down unless they beat us today, ...which is still possible.
Swansea v Stoke/Southampton in the last week of the season . Might decide things . Hudders will be in trouble if they cannot score against us !
We won't go down, not that we wouldn't deserve it. Hoping Fulham **** promotion up and Gino does the right thing!
A very bad day at the office for Soton , lose from 2-0 and everyone else picking up points around them (I’m looking for positives here before I get depressed about us,)
Don't think we will get another point the way we are playing so down to whether Soton can get 9 from 5 games (or Stoke 11 from from 5). Should be ok but like last year we are relying on others not eating away all our cushion.
Wr deserve to go down. Take sway the first quarter of this season and the odd good results we have played like a team who is in the bottom three. Manager issue aside, the players need to look at themselves especially after today. We probably will stay up - but we don't deserve to.
I don't think players commitment is in question but we do switch off to long balls. Awful day for Southampton. We'll stay up but like last season and year before it's been a very disappointing finish especially seeing Burnley get 7th which we should have continued to aim for.
This is why in terms of quality I don't think we are far off. Man for man Burnley do not have better players than us. Which again poses the question, is it poor attitude or lack of confidence? We can all guess which, but will probably never know.
Which man for man we cannot do. The players either don't listen to the manager before the game and at half time, don't care or Gracia throws his hands up and says "Do what you want". We are a better side than our performances dictate, but if you cannot score and most importantly cannot defend, you won't get anywhere.
I tend to agree with you, other than that I'd just like to say thank **** for the Chelsea comeback today!!!
Absolutely. Really thought they would lose at 2-0 and the gap would have been down to 6 with a game in hand !!!
I would think they are pretty much one and the same thing. Coaching: Don't just get it right, convince your players you've got it right.
